CDCGML 2017-18 (One GM position open!)

It's a pretty toxic cocktail, having a struggling team in the behemoth that is the Eastern Conference. And as we hit American Thanksgiving in 15th out of 16 teams in the conference, the stark realization that the Habs are likely already out of the race has set in.

Montreal will look at any and all offers. There aren't many untouchables, outside of Nolan Patrick and Shea Theodore, but young players won't be moved easily. Veterans are very much up for grabs however, as the youth movement appears to require another year.

Will pending free-agent Brent Burns want to remain in a rebuild? Will veterans like James Neal, Antoine Roussel, Cody Eakin, Erik Johnson, Thomas Hickey and Carl Soderberg draw interest from around the league? Have Alex Galchenyuk and Max Domi done enough to remain key pieces to the team or have they played their way into the trade market? Stay tuned...

Termination:

The Bruins would like to release Andrew Desjardins from his contract as he has signed with the Mannheim Eagles of the DEL.

When asked, Greensman responded, "Andrew rode the pine amongst the best of the pine-riders in the league. I was always most comfortable when he was doing his job, and riding the pine. He`s a real role player, and always gave it his full 110%. He played all facets of his position; he spat water like a champ, he banged his stick really hard against the boards when other guys scored and said mean things to the other bench with great mastery of low-syllabic language (often foreshadowing an upcoming stupid penalty). I didn't actually notice he`d left... Uuuuum, good luck. It`l be hard to find a replacement... oh, no... wait, I`m told we did."

Our youth is serving us well so far in this young season with Vasilevskiy, Monahan, Barzal, Hertl and Bowie all leading the way.

Still work to do as we continue to transition to youth but it's nice to see a smattering of our ready youth doing well and showing our fans their hope for this team's future is not misplaced.

Mason -- who was designated for injured reserve -- sustained a concussion against the Sharks on Saturday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Mason appeared to be shaking off a rough start to the season and was getting a couple more looks between the pipes, but now will miss at least the Jets' next three contests after being placed on injured reserve. Given the emergence of Connor Hellebuyck, the veteran Mason will likely remain relegated to the backup role for the rest of the year once cleared to return.

Waivers — The New York Rangers have claimed Klas Dahlbeck off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers

Thanks for handling that Squeak, and good luck Klas / @Primal Optimist

We acquired Klas 2 & 1/2 years ago. Knowing he was not a high upside D, but hoping he would cement himself in a 5th or 6th defensive D man role. He's had that at times. Just not at this moment, but hopefully he will again for you PO.

We had to make room for some of our young D with some scoring potential.
