Las Vegas - Active Shooter in Mandalay Bay (Updated - 59 Dead, 500+ Injured)

Woke up to this on the news this morning.

Absolutely horrendous.

Just listening to the automatic gunfire in the background as people are trying to figure out where to go is chilling.  Its getting pretty hard to listen to people talk about how there is nothing to be done for these "lone wolf" terrorists that go out and do things with no concern to themselves or anyone around them.  For the US at least it seems pretty simple...get some more regulations in for owning these powerful automatic weapons that can be so easily abused against defenseless civilians.

Would it stop all of the attacks?  Probably not, people will always find a way if they are connected and determined enough

Would it cut down on some of these massacres happening on an almost monthly (weekly now?) basis?  Why not find out.....

This is what happens when you can stroll into a Wal Mart and load up for a zombie apocalypse because it's "your god given right". But arm everyone they'll say. Right... some civilian Rambo will dive for cover and pick off the guy with a 9mm from 400 yards away. What a primitive society. What a shame. Needless and completely preventable.

Gd lone wolf terrorist attacks are just getting out of control these days.

Oh.  Stephen?  His names Stephen?

Gd mental illness right thur.

Obvious jabs aside it's seriously screwed up and terrible how common place these mass shooting events are becoming and how little change is being made to stop them.

Still silent...no condemnation and rightful labelling of this as a terrorist attack from anyone.

Not even a tweet

How do you stop them? The weapon used has likely been illegal for 30+ years. If you want these things stopped offer a solution. Like the Edmonton incident, if truly lone wolf how can you stop It? It can't be.

It was a terrorist attack. Likely not motivated by religion like some. Maybe politics. Maybe mental illness. A terror attack nonetheless.

Politicizing it doesn't make it anymore palatable. Already there are false flag wackos saying it was a Trump supporter using it to deflect from Puerto Rico. People are f*cked up.

I totally agree but you just said yesterday in another thread that these lone wolf terrorist attacks are pretty much impossible to stop.

So Wal-Mart is to blame? Or Zombies? Or Rambo?

Strange projection. Let's wait and see but the gun being fired was illegal and has been for decades. It was fully automatic. Not registered and there are thousands of them in private collections.

That is absolutely horrendous. The sort of thing that makes you feel sick. I know it's been said multiple times before, but America needs to wake the hell up and take a long look at it's gun laws.

The gun laws for these guns made them illegal 30+ years ago.

That's not false flag. False flag truthers are the ones that deny that the incident happened in the first place. They are out there as well, they say that all of these incidents aren't real and are just an attempt by the government to take away people's guns. I am sure with a Republican in office there will be fewer cries of false flag but the most hardcore of these wackjobs will still call this incident fake.

False flag wackjobs do not have political parties.

You missed the point. Republicans are not pro-gun control. Democrats are. Hence when such an incident occurs especially with a Democratic President there are more cries that this was faked so that "Obama/Clinton could take away our guns".

The point still stands in a country where assault rifles are readily available.

Ban them and be done with it. Although if Sandy Hook couldn't change perceptions what chance do people have? Pathetic.

This is the second major shooting in the US in less than a year. You have to have your head in the sand to believe that the woefully inadequate gun control doesn't play a part in their sheer frequency. Australia implemented effective gun control laws and they saw immediate results. In any case nothing is going to change due to the sheer number of people in America with a gun fetish.

The US lawmakers and voters are to blame. They brought this on themselves unfortunately. Every year there's a worse inevitable shooting.

Look at Japan for example. Six or less gun homicides per year, because they did something as simple as banning guns (and even swords) altogether.

Society's are different in every country, what works in Japan in no way will work in the U.S with guns.

was just at Vegas last Wed.

there are wackos everywhere, but getting weapons that can cause mass murder is too easy in the US. that guy in Edmonton could only use his car and knife. Imagine if he had the same weapons. Different story. Guns don't kill people, but people without a gun can't kill as easily.
