When you think about it, this is the 3rd season in a row that we've had a defenseman come out of nowhere to earn a prominent role on our team. That's pretty impressive considering the total cost of those 3 players were a 4th rounder, a 5th rounder and Pedan. I don't really see what you're saying by calling Pedan a "bum" to be honest. Some trades are won and lost and trades like these shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out no matter what one's opinion of JB may be. Pouliot's really shown to be better than Pedan and that makes sense given that Pouliot's a former first round pick. Pedan could have made it and who knows if he would have if WD didn't throw him in the forwards lineup; however, he also might have not and there's no evidence that can be obtained from something that never happened.
