The Colt 45s
Multibillionaire with cash to spend. Good news is the Toyota Center is already NHL ready. I would probably become a season ticket holder. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2017/10/10/nhl-team-could-be-in-the-works-for-houston-rockets.html
Green Building
I could see the league offering up another $500 mil expansion team before the CBA expires to pad the owner wallets before the next lockout. They had better be ready to relocate a fledgling franchise or 2 at the same time.
goalie13
I think this might have a better chance than Seattle. If this happens, then Seattle and Quebec can only hope for teams relocating. I can't see the league going to 34 teams.
JM_
wonderful... so Vegas and Houston get to feed on high picks for the next 3-6 years?
ForsbergTheGreat
Houston is the fourth biggest market in the US and apparently the AHL was well liked when they were their, the reason they left was tenant issues. I could see Houston being a good market but I also think a team like Carolina needs to be moved to Quebec.

apollo
I'm ok with expansion to 32 teams... would even up all the divisions with 8 teams. My only problem would be with Jimbo picking our expansion list again. Hopefully he's fired or has no say in it come the 32nd team expansion. Of the 30 teams, considering we finished 2nd last place, it's embarrassing that Jimbo gave them their 2nd best player. Neal being the 1st and Sbisa being the 2nd. Not funny. I live here in the Houston metro. I have friends that lost everything, and won't be back into their homes for months to come. We had to repair our roof and replace the sheet rock and insulation at our house. The scale of the damage is insane. The thousands of people that are now homeless is tremendous. Haha, put me on the spot why don't ya. I'm honestly not 100% sure. But my recollection is that they don't get 3rd lotto position again this year (or in future years). As far as I remember, it was proposed but rejected early on (multiple years of guaranteed high picks) in the expansion terms discussions, and the final decision was that they'd only get 3rd best odds for 2017, and then it'd be determined by the standings in future drafts. Can't find a source on this but the 2018 lottery sims certainly don't have Vegas getting any special benefits.

Xbox
I'm against the NHL becoming larger than 32 teams, but I've always wondered why there was no NHL in Houston. But with how good the Astros and Rockets are right now, is it really the best time to introduce one?

ArkDepot
Houston is 4x the size of Quebec City, but the fans in Quebec are 4x crazier, so even up. Plus. Winter.
