-Vintage Canuck-
According to John Shannon, both the Flames and Coyotes came up as relocation possibilities when during Tilman Fertitta's meeting with the league about bringing a team to Houston. MattJVD
Can the Flames owners' please get over themselves. The city offered $150 million plus the land for the new arena, that's generous. The Calgary relocation stuff is silly. Edit: the city offered to pay: One third of direct constructions costs Costs of demolition and remediation of the SaddleDome site Extend infrastructure (light rail, road, etc) to properly service the new site) Provide the land (currently city owned) at no cost) Yet the owners think this is unfar because they'd have to pay property tax on the new arena. You know, like every other business does.

How long have they saved that bankcrupt dumpster fire in Arizona. We can all agree that the saddledome is 1000 years old but they sell out every night compared to Arizona. But the NHL logic lets move a successful Canadian Franchise because they cant build a new arena compared to one that attracts 5000 fans per game. Houston probably does hurt Seattle's chances a bit as well... And be careful with the relocation talk.. Vancouver's attendance is mediocre at best right now and before you know it, it could be the Canucks people are mentioning in the relocation talks. IF FA decides to sell and a buyer wants to move the team, im not so sure the NHL would step in to try to block it. i'm pretty sure they would step in to block it. currently Vancouver is the 7th most valuable team in the NHL according to forbes. If you think the NHL is going to walk away from that you are crazy.

Panthers to Quebec make more sense.. Carolina have a much stronger fanbase than Florida..
