WHICH CONCERTS HAVE YOU ATTENDED?

420since1974

Not enough.  That's why I want a time machine... so I can go back and see the great ones I missed.

No particular order:

The Who (crappy acoustics at BC Place)

Bob Seger,

Weird Al (many times, lots of fun),

David Bowie,

Pat Benatar Headpins in some small club... that made for a cool experience,

Doug and the Slugs (at the Breakers... is that still there?),

Steve Miller (more recently, but he hasn't lost much of his touch).

Gotta think there are one or two I am missing.

A number of tribute bands... can be fun to see how well they copy the original.  And, when the original artist is gone, well, sometimes it's the best you can do.

Edit: thanks Toni for putting Headpins down and shaking my memory up a bit.  Pretty sure it was them and not Pat Benatar that I saw in that club.

Zeppelin

*mic drop*

I was at their last ever gig in London. Must be about 10 years ago now? I swear more people cried at the end than will at my funeral

Wish I'd seen them in their pomp but boy, were they incredible. When Kashmir started, that thunder! Boom! Never felt a crowd more alive than at that moment. Will stick with me for a lifetime.

A lot. And too many to recall.

I’m currently done with concerts, as well. With a newborn, just don’t have the time or the care. It’s a young mans game. Would rather go to a good stand-up act with a night out than a concert.

Far too many to mention...been to well over 250 major shows, 20+ festivals and I don't have even a clue at how many small club gigs...

Highlights:

Beastie Boys @ '93 Lallapalooza, Hello Nasty Tour and a few others.

Page and Plant No Quarter

First Pemberton Festival...then again in 2014-2016 - acts that stand out: Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Die Antwoord, Galactic, Run The Jewels, Outkast

2002 Glastonbury

Arcade Fire...every damn show in Vancouver + Squamish Fest

At the Drive In - 2000 at Dustys here in Whistler

ACDC - Money Talks tour (first major show at age 12)

Devo - during Olympics....free show at medal plaza

3 Inches of Blood - their final show ever at The Commodore.

I went to one concert: Billy Joel.  Not much into seeing the older crowd, since their days are done.  Would like to see newer (in their primes) singers: Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Twenty-one Pilots, Hedley - those younger people.  Likely won't though.

I usually just stick with the idea that musical taste is subjective (not fully true..people who just like basic top 40 have been proven to be dumber in several studies) . But wow....you have terrible taste in music  :P

EDIT: or what shows you want to see*

I've only ever been to 2 concerts.

Eric Clapton - GM Place

Moody Blues - Queen Elizabeth Theatre w/ Orchestra!

Those were in the same summer, I believe it was around 1997 or 1998.

I watched Kim Mitchell and April Wine in Kingston but that was a free concert at Market Square and didn't get the chance to watch more than a handful of songs as we were on a pub crawl.....err....a study crawl.

That's a special one right there!

Indeed. Took a limo to Detroit (Auburn Hills) drinking fuzzy navels the whole time. The thing about Clapton is you don't know who the guest will be. The show was in the round with a stairwell near center stage. You saw that hat with the huge feather in it come up out of there...awesome.

This show was just a few months before the helicopter crash.

Damn DaddyRock that is awesome. Led Zeppelin had a special connection to Vancouver too. Opening every North American tour here up until 1975. Just awesome.
