TSN finally showing some respect with "Core 4" rating

They rated our core 4 player's under 24 years old at #21 of 30 teams last year....

This year they have us at #10 and are calling us the "wild card"....here is a copy paste:

Embedded Image

10. VANCOUVER CANUCKS

PLAYER AGE 2017-18 GP G A PTS
1. Bo Horvat, C 22 Vancouver 18 7 7 14
2. Brock Boeser, RW 20 Vancouver 15 5 10 15
3. Elias Pettersson, C 19 Vaxjo (SHL) 16 6 12 18
4. Thatcher Demko, G 21 Utica (AHL) 7 4-2-1 1.85 .939

Last Year: 21st (+11)
Aged Out: Ben Hutton
Scoop: The Canucks are the true wild card of the Core Four, because unlike the other teams in the Top 10, half of their entry is based on projection. But with Peterson lighting up the Swedish Hockey League and a potential No. 1 netminder in Demko, we’ll take that bet. They’d join Boeser, who is already a point-per-game player and a natural born leader at centre in Horvat ready to take over for the Sedins.

Well I wouldn't give TSN too much credit - they basically threw in the Canucks as an afterthought and made certain readers knew their inclusion was based heavily on 'projection' just to slightly dilute their COMPLETE toronto bias.

The future looks bright. Can't wait to see Pettersson in a Canucks uniform. I agree that it would be nice to add another top D, to compliment Juolevi and Brisebois. I also have high hopes for Chatfield. And you never know, Tryamkin could return some day.

I saw the article.  To me it was just another excuse for TSN to talk about the Leafs.

They have only been doing this ranking for two years, coinciding with the drafting of Matthews..  Do you think they would be doing it at all if the Leafs still sucked and had no hope for the future?  I doubt it.

TSN just creating this "Core Four" ranking to put the Laffs in 1st. I doubt they'll continue with this "annual" ranking once the Laffs prospect pool starts to trend downwards. Typical Maple Leafs fluff piece.

who's in their top 4?

Matthews, Marner, Nylander and whom?

we may pass them next season if pettersson is in the nhl bringing the pain .

Exactly what I was thinking when this ranking started to show up.

They just want to find something where Toronto would be ranked high.

Leafs #1, McDavid #2 = TSN wet dream.

Enjoy the positive vibes and don’t look too closely at the source. It’s a wonder they even remembered to mention the Nucks.
