DiPietro will be there and get a couple of exhibition and prelim games, but Hart will likely be their guys when it starts to count. Team Swededn will be the one that Canuck's fans will need to keep and eye on. Is Jonathan Dahlen still eligible for wjc or just Elias?? Elias has just 4 pts in 18 international gp. I won't be expecting him to set the world on fire at the WJC leading the SHL in points or not.

I really like Jost. But I wish the Avalanche had left him @ UND this year. Too early IMO... Which still makes this a good move, but?

mll
^ McKenzie has Bean as one of the 4 core Ds. Button says that Mete can also play his off-side.
RRypien37
Awesome news with Mete and Jost. Hope this continues with Patrick, PLD and Girard being allowed to go as well.
Time Lord
I wouldn't get too hopeful about Jost http://www.denverpost.com/2017/12/09/tyson-jost-and-sam-girard-arent-wjc-candides/ Also this: http://bsndenver.com/avs-snap-losing-streak-with-goal-explosion Quote I got some pushback on the possibility of Tyson Jost being sent to Canada to play in the World Juniors. Maybe I heard from some Canadian sources who engaged me in some wishful thinking, but it seems like the chances of him leaving the Avs for the tournament are smaller than I thought. Still could happen, but let’s face it – this team needs him.

You're forgetting Bean. He already made the team last year as an 18 year old. Fabbro, Clague, Makar, Bean and Mete are all LOCKS. I'd say Foote is heavily favoured for the #6 spot. #7 spot is a toss up

My thoughts were Mete & Clague passed Bean as left handed PMD's. Clague is killing him in the WHL. Mete made the NHL... I heard the coach likes to keep guys in balanced pairs, on their natural side. And Mahura? I don't really know...
Ossi Vaananen
Lind/Gadj on the same line, with what should be a lock in McLeod, can only bode well. I think the Kaspick - Ang - Batherson line will be among the first group cut.
Tyndall2
Would love to see Dube and Lind represent the Rockets on the Canadian team. Not too sure about Foote. He has the ability to be a top 6 back ender but needs to stop taking stupid and lazy penalties.

Should be fun to see whether both can ramp up their intensity and desire to make this team. They are great prospects already, but what entices me is to see whether they have an extra gear to give. Also curious to see who becomes that versatile 13th forward. Year after year, that 13th guy usually plays such a key role down the road in the tourney. I feel Nick Suzuki will be that rover for the team. But for Canada to do damage further down the tourney, their Defense really needs to play as one unit. Got lots of talent, but can they play as one?
