-Vintage Canuck-
This is a good deal for both sides.
stuman491
I had no idea Henrique has been in the league for so long. Time flies. This looks like a pretty even trade. I don't envy any team that has to play Anaheim once they are healthy. Their forward depth is pretty incredible now.
kloubek
For whatever the reason, Vatanen has been on a serious decline for a couple of years now, and Henrique seems to have stalled in his development, so a fresh start for both might not be a horrible thing. As others have said, it is indeed curious considering the depth the Ducks have at center. I'm guessing they are trying to salvage their season and that one or both of Kesler or Getzlaf are not healing as anticipated.

Getz, Kesler Henrique and Vermette down the middle, Ritchie, Perry, Cogs, Silverberg, Rakell and Eaves as the top 9 wingers. And they still have a solid backline although not nearly as deep as 6 months ago. Look for them to do damage in the playoffs if healthy. omg Perry-Gets-Rakell Silverfberg-Kesler-Eaves Ritchie-Henrique-Cogliano That top 9 is scary good, especially that top 6. He was not saying, do they have any other good forwards other than Henrique, just, do they have the forward depth to cover for the hole Henrique departing will leave in their lineup. D-Money
Ducks still have Jacob Larsson on the farm, along with a couple of other decent young guys. They still have lots of depth at D, so the trade makes good sense. And yeah, if they get everyone healthy, they'll be STACKED down the middle. TheHitman
I guess the cost of a puck moving RHD is pretty high. Henrique is a good piece that'll make ANA a lot better.
Rush17
Wow.. i did not know henrique was available nor the devils were in on any of anas d. very big trade out of left field.

Think of, Hank & Kesler cap in hand, us adding Malhotra as 3c? But their wingers, including Rakell, who is also a natural centre, are better than we were. As are their D! Good team Anaheim... King Heffy
Anaheim loading up at center is going to cause all kinds of issues for opponents with the new faceoff rules in the playoffs. Nice to see a hockey trade.

BabychStache
i dunno. I feel Anaheim is getting dangerously close to being the new SJ. Perry isn't the same guy, and Getz and Kes can't stay healthy. Don't get me wrong, they are a good team, but i see Nashville, Winnipeg, and St. Louis having no problems matching up to them. Luckily for the Ducks, they should only have to beat one of those teams in the playoffs.
Losing With Pride
Tough to say who the clear cut winner is right now. I thought the price on top 4 dman could have been higher. See the Hamonic, Larsson deals. Anaheim will be scary... if everyone is healthy.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
The conditional pick is Anaheim’s 2019/2020 3rd rounder. The year to be determined by whether they sign Henrique before or after the 2019 draft. No pick surrendered if they don’t extend him.
