KKnight
Hey guys, Lets say Hypothetically Sedins retire at the end of the season. We are desperately going to have to replace scoring. What do you think about Kovalchuk? I believe 33 years old at free agency. Still a very productive player in the K. Would most likely be on a shorter term deal, smaller risk and he would give our offense some dynamic flair, especially the PP. and now..... let the discussion begin. PunjabiCanucks
No thank you, I don't think he will be able to return. I would rather use the $ for Tavares / Kane or take on 1 to 2 year bad contracts for high draft picks

Pears
Why sign Kovalchuk when we could throw serious $$$$ at Tavares and Kane? I wouldn’t mind bringing Kovy over for a couple years though.

hammertime
No to Kovi not that he's no good I'm sure if he comes back he will put up 50-60 pts. He's a me first guy we don't need guys like that around when we are building a team. He was even benched in the KHL for crappy attitude..... Kovy maybe helps Tryamkin come back, Russian mentor for both Big T and Goldy plus maybe some other Ruski? Why not? The team will still be rebuilding for another 3 or 4 years.
