[Discussion] Adam Lowry RFA

Just throwing it out there, but the Jets may need to let some go in order to keep others..

Lowry could be one of those who might not be offered enough to make it work.

I see him as a 3-4m player for 3-4 years.

Might be on Bennings list since DDorsett has retired, and a great fit if it transpired..

This is a realistic acquisition, unlike trading for Reinhart, Karlsson, etc. Great that he's 6'5" (210), and only 24.

Tough fast, soft hands, his progression looks really good.

I was impressed by him when we last played the jets

I don't think he'll command enough money for the Jets to have to part with him.

The real question is what Winnipeg does at the end of 2018/19, when Laine needs an extension. Also Wheeler and Myers are UFA, and Connor is RFA. The decision now may be to keep Lowry for cheaper, and eventually move a couple of others with bigger tickets.

Has some pretty decent numbers...and his last 5 games, he has averaged nearly 60% or better in the faceoffs.

As long as the return for him is moderate, I'd be down for this, would serve has a huge upgrade on Brendan Gaunce and may even serve as a replacement on Brandon Sutter.

Do you think Goldobin would be enough to get it done? I wonder about Goldy, I like him, he's a skilled player, but it seems Green has issues with his work ethic and effort. If not Goldobin, what player(s) would go the other way?

Yes, It’s not like the Jets lack size without Lowry,  a Goldobrin swap might make sense..

But if some one offers 3.5 at RFA,   I think they get him.

I could see something being done in the offseason for him, but Winni probably would want to keep him since its all working so well for them right now. Its a little bit sickening that they have 11 mil in cap space right now too.

Wow Jimmy,  I didn’t realize that..   damn , they could rent someone special for the playoffs,.

Might have to check the Vegas odds on the Jets winning the Cup this season.

But they have to play all their home games in Winnipeg.

I'd be fine if thats where the cup comes back to Canada this year. But just the one time tho for payback for Bettman taking their team away.

Yah they've really done a good job and had some good luck too of course with the lotto. They're in a great spot to rent players.

I could see them potentially moving Trouba if its a hockey trade.

and a bug net

The bugs are way worse in Manitoba. Goddamn black flies took chunks of flesh from me the last time I drove through the province. And then there's the inordinately large mosquitoes. Clearly the spider population is lacking in Manitoba.
