Yeah Virtanen maybe hit a micro-second late, but it was clear his stick rode up accidentally. Then he gets jumped by Subban and the whole of the rest of the team... and ends up with more penalty minutes????? WTF???? Yes it was late in the game, yes the Canucks were losing, but nothing Virtanen did deserved the minutes he got. Just more anti-Canuck cr*p. ---------- About the game: Well, Nilsson has been a pretty good backup up to this point, but tonight he really stunk up the joint. Yeah the shots were wonky and there were lots of deflections... but his positioning and general readiness were just not up to what is required. Not a NHL calibre performance.... hopefully he doesn't let this destroy his confidence. But still, maybe time to think about giving Demko a few starts as a backup. Otherwise it was the same old story... with our two best faceoff and defensive centers out, this team is not up to the task. Plus not enough firepower and having the Sedins as the first line will not win games. Hopefully Canucks don't have too many more of these embarrassments... don't want a negative culture forming. He basically threw that shot from center ice into his net. Once the team was down 3-0, the wind was out of the sails. Even if he JUST stops Subban's second goal, and the Canucks score to make it 2-1 it's a different story, but really both of those Subban goals need to be saved.
