EternalCanuckFan Posted June 25, 2018 Share Posted June 25, 2018 While I agree with other posters that Archibald was more effective and would be great to have back in the fold, I don't see a downside to re-signing Dowd for additional depth. IIRC, the Canucks have quite a few contract spots open. Unless there are young FA prospects that they really want to sign and there aren't many contracts left, it can't hurt to re-sign Dowd and give him a chance to compete at camp. If things don't work out, then Dowd can go to Utica to mentor prospects there or he will get claimed on waivers and will remain in the NHL.
