12-16-FG
ok Van is no-where ready, but what if? Van trades- 1st rd pick 2019, a 3rd rd pick 2018, Goldy, and Tanev to Ottawa In return Van gets Karlson and a 2019 4th rd pick. Van then sends Guddy to Long island for a 2nd rd pick 2018 and a D prospect. Before you all go off the wall , hear this out. Tanev and Karlson are roughly the same age, Tanev being top 5 in the NHL as a def- defence man. and Karlson arguably the best offensive D-man in the NHL. Van gives up a total of what 9 mil in salary in 2 D-men a 1st and a 3 they receive a 4th next year and a 2nd this year. resign Karlson to a 5 year 50 mil contract. Wish Hank and Danny a farewell and a big thank you. With a hope that they can move Erickson at the dead line for a 2nd next year and retaining 2 mil this year and next. Give JB another 5 years to continue his good work. Keep Vanek, Gagne, and MDZ. (giving Vanek 1 more year) Back to Tanev and Karlson, people seem to forget how good Tanev is, they believe he is worthless to any team , but look at his years service and his numbers, they are worth a whole lot more then you would think. I believe this deal would work, Ottawa fans would kill Dorion, but if your team was in dire a need of offence and a replacement D, this is what i believe you do. So please add your comments, be kind. you may not agree, but alway's good to see what others think.

coastal.view
where has your head been why do you think karlsson will resign for 10 million per year have you not paid attention to the exchanges between and the king's dman? he will expect to be resigned for 12 to 14 million annual average 10 million is a non starter so i won't comment on the balance of the post
Drew.Doughty
Tanev being a top 5 defensive defensemen in the NHL??? Are we talking about the same Tanev? Goldobin can't even stick on a bottom feeder like the Canucks? Why would the Sens want him We don't even give the good 1st round pick which is probably top 5 this year but we give them next years... We probably won't even get Karlsson's jockstrap with that and you want a 4th as well...
