Now we are talking Calgarians...... well done.

Despite the lack of heat recently in Calgary, an Irish energy company is banking on a lot of sunshine to fuel a potential new solar energy farm.

DP Energy is proposing a 156-acre solar energy production facility within Calgary city limits. If approved, it would be the largest in Western Canada.

World class spill response.

The polluter will pay.

uh huh

First off shouldn't @kingofsurrey and yourself be protesting this ship being anywhere near BC?

Secondly, did you read the article?

On Thursday, Judge Kathryn Denhoff acquitted the ship of charges under the Canada Shipping Act, ruling that while the ship discharged a pollutant, she accepted the ship's defence that it used due diligence in the case.

She found that the discharge came from shipbuilder defects which neither the owner nor crew could have discovered beforehand on the brand new vessel.

Washington governor says state will try to influence Trans Mountain pipeline decisions ‘every way’ it can

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee says his state shares concerns with British Columbia about the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion and will continue to voice its objections any way it can.

Inslee made the comments at a joint news conference in Seattle on Thursday with B.C. Premier John Horgan, who is visiting the state to discuss partnerships on endangered killer whales, clean energy and high-speed rail.

Asked how Washington could influence the pipeline project, Inslee replied: “Every way that we can under Canadian law.”

“We’ve done that so far by our Department of Ecology making a vigorous, robust statement of our concerns,” he said. “I have exercised my rights as governor to speak publicly and vocally about our concerns about this project.”

His concerns include the increased risk of oil spills and the impact of increased vessel traffic and noise on endangered southern resident killer whales off the coast of B.C. and Washington, he said.

but all this proves is sometimes no one will be held responsible. If this had been a spill of real significance the result is likely the same.

Hes using washington state(the competition) to undermine the sovereignty of his own province and country.

Horgan's supporters would argue that he's doing everything he can to protect his province.

the point is, the polluter isn't paying. the public ends up eating it.

You must support the LNG pipeline then right? All the coal being used in China and India for power plants being replaced with natural gas which produces 50% less CO2. Since any country in the world using coal has a tremendously negative impact on BC as far as climate change is concerned.
