Rush17
Nashville Welcomes Ondrej Palat to Tennessee! Nashville, Tennesse. The Nashville Predators are excited to welcome Ondrej Palat to the Predators organization. Palat (28) produced 8 goals and 28 assists (34) points in 64 games last season with the Detroit Red WIngs. The Predators traded Draft picks (37) and (106) to the Red Wings acquire Palat. Ondrej Palat has three years left on his current contract with an average annual cap hit of 5.30M per season. The Predators management is ecstatic about the opportunity to add a player of Ondrej's calibre and pedigree. We feel his offensive creativity, playing experience, and leadership will be invaluable to our team's young forward group. The Nashville Predators currently have six active EKL forwards under the age of 24 on its roster including budding star Clayton Keller - whom Palat could see himself playing aside. When we heard Ondrej's name come up in trade rumours we quickly contacted Detroit to check up on his availability. He is a phenomenal teammate and a very creative offensive player who we feel can help us win. We are thrilled to have Ondrej join our line up and look forward to seeing him in our top six as we look to contend for our first EKL Playoff berth next season. Palat will join Ryan O'Reilly, Patrick Kane, Clayton Keller, Anthony Mantha, and Tyler Bozak in the teams top six to start next season. The GM confirmed his placement in the lineup will be at the discretion of the coach but he will be in the teams top 6 in some capacity either aside Keller and Bozak or O'Reilly and Kane. The Preds coach had this to say about the acquisition of Palat. "I am extremely excited and ecstatic about acquiring such a world-class talent like Ondrej Palat. We feel his creativity will shine as we push for what we hope is a historic EKL run for this young Nashville team next season. The team's coach feels confident Palat's addition to the lineup along with the progression of its youth will provide the team more balanced scoring in its top 6." To get Nashville fans familiar with Palat the team offered highlight package for their consumption. We are hearing word Palat will wear #18, Jake Virtanen is switching his jersey number to #77. Highlights of Ondrej Palat We as a management team look forward to what we hope is a strong and very productive offseason. The team has its eyes set on playoff contention and plans to seek out the remaining pieces it feels it needs to contend for the 2019-20 season. The team will be looking to add some additional veterans to round out the bottom end of its lineup to further insulate the young kids. The team feels confident the team's current defence and Goaltending situation. The team may, however, look to add a veteran blueliner in free agency if the right fit is there. The Preds coach plans to rotate playing time between Thatcher Demko (23) and Mackenzie Blackwood (22) to maximize their development next season. Both netminders are expected to have frequent playing time in the EKL and AHL next season. The team plans to re-evaluate its goaltending situation as the season unfolds and feel confident in the depth they added with Blackwood. The team may look to deal from its positions of strength on defence and goaltending to address future needs but the management team has no plans of moving anyone immediately. The team plans to evaluate its options come July 1st as the team looks to add some key players on its quest to an EKL Playoff Berth! The team may look to deal from its positions of strength on defence and goaltending to address future needs but the management team has no plans of moving anyone immediately. The team plans to evaluate its free agency options come July 1st as the team looks to add some key players on its quest to an EKL Playoff Berth! The Nashville Predators would like to thank the Detroit Red Wings and their GM @canucklax for the quick and painless trade negotiations. We were quite happy a deal could be reached in short a time period. We would also like to thank Ondrej Palat and his family for agreeing to waive his NTC to join our young and upcoming hockey club. Our goal is to deliver a Championship in the next 5 years. We look forward to the challenges that lie ahead as we chase after the ultimate dream. An EKL Championship! Nashville Predators are listening to offers on the 15th Overall pick. They have a player they really like at 15 but are open to moving the pick for a younger defenceman (aged 21-25) or for a promising defensive prospect. If you are interested in moving up and have a D man of this ilk please contact @Rush17 . The team plans to make its pick later this afternoon between 2-4pm PST (If no deal is complete) Edited May 26, 2019 by Rush17
