Brad Richardson UFA 33 RW Left 75 3 12 15 -22 14:48 - - - - - $2,250,000 56. Thomas Vanek UFA 34 LW, RW Right 79 24 32 56 -2 14:23 - - - - - $2,000,000 All of these players could likely be had at a good price or on relatively short-term deals like given out to Gagner, Del Zotto, and Vanek etc. Grabner may get a big payday but the rest seem to be pretty reasonable. Grabner's speed could make him a worthwhile veteran to lock down if we can nab him over a 4-year term. Bozak will likely command a 3-5 year term contract but we might be able to convince him to sign him on the lower end of that. (Unlikely but figured he would be worth adding as a long shot like Grabner.) Here is the link of all UFAs currently not re-upd: https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/free-agents/2019/caphit/all/all/ufa (Please share who you feel could be a good contributor to this squad next season to help replace some of the veteran leadership we will be losing in our 2 all-time greats retiring this evening!) Noble 6
I'll take Green on a 2 year deal probably around 5 million per, especially if we trade Tanev in the offseason. I'd be wary of anything longer than 2 years though. I think Filppula would be a good fit here as well. He can play center or wing and could be a good player to pair Pettersson with next year similar to how he played with Drouin in Tampa Bay. I wouldn't expect 30 goals or anything, just smart, responsible hockey. Something like 2 years in between 3-4 million per should work. If Benning wants to address the loss of Dorsett, maybe we could also squeeze in someone like Reeves, Nolan, Stewart or McLeod (listed in order of preference). Reeves might command a little more, but they should sign for 2 million per year or less.
rekker
I would sign Green and trade Tanev as well. Makes sense for many reasons.
Quantum
Antoine Roussel would be a strong addition to the bottom six if they go that route. Jannik Hansen may also be had for a cheapo deal 1 year, 1.5 mill most likely after his dreadful season... coming back to Vancouver may be the best thing for him and the Canucks. Derek Ryan is also another guy I'd like, he'd be cheap centre depth that would be productive. Still think he'll stay in Carolina but Ryan is from Spokane, Washington -- practically a local boy lol And Vanek is always an option to come back. His impact on Boeser has been huge and he's having a terrific run with CBJ. May demand a multi year deal which may be a little steep at this stage of his career... and what the Canucks will want out of him. I'd be okay signing him for two years MAX. I'd love Green or Carlson or Tavares but I don't see any of those guys coming here. I'll be interested in the RFA turned UFA market too.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Would love to bring back some former Canucks in Brad Richardson and Michael Grabner. Richie could help alleviate some of the defensive responsibilities for Brandon Sutter and Bo Horvat. Plus he plays with an edge and a motor that never stops going. Always thought JB should've resigned him. He was a great fourth line centre, and is a great faceoff guy. Grabner brings speed and some ability to score. Think he would pair well with Sutter in a shutdown duo, but give a little more offensive finish which is something that is needed. Especially if Sutter's line plays 18+ mins a night, there needs to be an offensive pushback, not simply just sitting back and letting a number one line dictate the flow of the game. I would be very happy with a short term deal with these two Goldobin-Horvat-Boeser Baertschi-Gagner-Virtanen Grabner-Sutter-Gaudette Granlund-Richardson-Archibald/Leipsic . For defense, I think you need some more veteran depth knowing our history of how decimated we can get, and to help lighten the load for the younger guys in utica. Would love to see a depth guy like Kyle Quincey, Taylor Chorney, or Brandon Manning (just to piss Conner McDavid off) as a number 7/8 guy.
Vinny in Vancouver
Since our farm team is not located close by, I would really like to see the young players play so it's starting to look pretty full on both forwards and D: C: Horvat, Gaudette, Pettersson, Sutter W (more than full): Boeser, Dahlen, Goldobin, Virtanen, Baertschi, Granlund, Eriksson, Gagner, Leipsic, Motte D (more than full): Juolevi, Hutton, Sautner, Edler, Stecher, Tanev, MDZ, Pouliot, Gudbranson So the only vet I'm hoping for is a goalie better than Anders Nilsson. JustABandwagoner
JOHN TAVARES 8 YRS X 12.5 MILL (Max contract + max bonuses) We will name him king Tavares. He will get whatever he demands. literally ANYTHING (Even if it is unreasonable - as long as its legal )
xereau
John Carlson. Right hand D. He is going to get a massive contract. Worth the interest. Mark Stone. Probably the best player on Ottawa not named Karlsson. Take away specialist. Higgins on steroids. Evander Kane. People don't like him. But I do. Speed and grit. Hometown kid. Andrej Sustr. RIght hand D. Think Tryamkin with 6 more years NHL experience. Nail Yakupov. Making minimum this year. Has managed to stick around even though was a 'bust'. Zero risk, major upside. Jannik Hansen. He is only 32.

Pears
Green could be a realistic fit. We could offer him top line minutes on a solid contract. Grabner could maybe be a target as well for some secondary scoring depth.

I could see a Dorsett replacement. Is Archibald that guy? I'm just raising the question because I'm not sure he makes the team with a healthy line up. Gagner was supposed to be Hanks replacement I think but Green looks like he wants him on the wing. We could see a bottom 6 centre added on a 1 or 2 year term. Richardson? As for goal, I think we see the 2 best of Markstrom, Nilsson and Demko with the club next year.
TheGuardian_
Rebuilding or building, there is a difference. Vanek is a good safe selection even if he gets a clause contract at 2 mil or so for 2 or 3 years, easily palatable. Green in Tanev out, depends on the money and if Tanev gets enough of a return, bad time of year to be trading Tanev, too many others out there. There are loads of prospects that need to get on this team, Horvat already has 4 years here. IMO just resign Vanek and maybe Jokien, the idea is to make room for the kids, it also would not hurt the draft spot next year. I sure hope, one of the few times I hope, that the Nucks get lucky.
