  • -Vintage Canuck- changed the title to [Rumour] Kovalchuk to return to NHL next season

A Stanley Cup contender is where he wants to go to complete the Triple Crown of Hockey. He has won in the Worlds, Olympics and now needs a Stanley Cup to add to his international fame.

I wonder if he won a championship in the Kontinental League?

He won both the 2015 and 2017 Gargarin Cup in the KHL.

He won the KHL Gagarin cup twice and has always been a near PPG player in every professional league he's ever played in.

His "Triple Crown"* though

Olympic Gold*
World Championships*

*notes the top NHL players did not attend.

If that's the case, there will be lots of premiere players that will have an asterisk.

Larionov, Mogilny, Fetisov, Mats Naslund.
