And that damn extra day off before game seven. Rangers were on the ropes. They got the rest they needed. I remember Glen Healy saying in an interview somewhere that if not for the extra day off, they don't win.

Hats off to Blake Wheeler. Had a proper conversation with almost every Pred. You can tell he was giving them their dues. That's a captain right there.

The Predators are probably the most overrated team in the league at this point. Maybe Johansen can use his stick to win more games that count rather than using it for nutshots.

 

The defense was pathetic in game 7, puck watching and blowing coverage left, right and center. Rinne went from playing like a Vezina finalist to a total sieve. Subban for Weber doesn't look so good today.

 

Maybe next year, Smashville......maybe.

Did the Bruins (under Chia Pet's control) trade him, or let him walk as a UFA?  Either way, letting him get away was an obvious mistake.

I think the more interesting storyline now is:  Can the Predators go back to Rinne after this debacle?

 

I'm not certain what they have in the system (besides Saros, obviously) but at 35 he ain't getting any younger and it doesn't look like he has the confidence of his team anymore.

 

This could be more like Philly 2.0, where you have a decent team but no goaltending to take you to the promised land.
