King Heffy
Gallant, obviously. Firing him might be the biggest mistake those analytics weenies in Florida made.
Quantum
It's Gerard Gallant and it's not even close. Florida really messed up with Vegas. Not only did Florida give VGK Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith for free but they also gave them one of the best coaches in the game in Gallant! Gallant should never have been fired by the Panthers. Florida could have been in the playoffs this year, honestly, had they not lost there minds two years ago. That said, Bednar deserves a ton of credit too for the turnaround in Colorado. He looked like a dead man walking coming in this season but has managed to turn things around amazingly. I'm sure in a year or two Travis Green will be one of the nominees once the Canucks are finally back in the playoffs.

Rush17
Gallant hands down for piecing that together. Bednar close second for turning that tire fire around. Cassidy is a good option but is less appealing than the others.
-AJ-
This will be a landslide. Gallant and it's not even close. Can't believe Florida fired him.

Possibly but nothing they did is worse than Tallon trading a cumulative 135 points (Smith and Marchessault) to protect Petrovic. Florida just needs to clean house, what a disaster.. If so he should have gotten better value back. Tallon has always been a disaster, when they had the money he shot himself in the foot with that Bolland contract. Then he traded Crouse (terrible pick considering who was left on board) just to get rid of Bolland.

The Panthers I don't think are in the same financial situation. Soon as the Sens started to lose money, the problems began didn't they?

Chicago was VERY lucky they were able to get out of that possible HUGE mistake.

Definitely deserves some recognition, but should be a no brainer for Gallant to win.

McPhee, not sold. Trade deadline was quite poor and more of a real indictor of the work he will do in a normal GM situation vs a situation where he had most teams bent over. Florida was doing real well and then those analytics weenies came along and they fell on their faces. Gallant wins. No one in the past has done what he has done this year. Sure he was given a good roster to work with but it's hard to get the most out of the players and getting them to work together. Under Gallant, many players have had a career year or a revival year of some sort.
