Correct draft pick selections!
Each successful draft pick placement earns you 3 points! If you predict Rasmus Dahlin goes 1st overall and he does you earn 3 points!  Pretty simple math!

Chain your picks!
Chain successful draft pick placements together for extra points! For each player you add to the chain you earn 1 extra point! String together 3 in a row and earn 3 additional points!  Get hot and string 5 in a row??   That is 5 extra points!!!

Each Player on your list selected in top 10 earns you 1 point!
If you have a player on your list in the top 10.  Even if he goes ahead or behind your placement, you can still earn a point!  Any player on your list who goes in

the top 10 no matter the order gets you that extra point.  (An example: you select Rasmus Dahlin to go 2nd overall and he goes 1st overall you still earn 1 point

for having him in your top 10!)

Max Point totals:

Each top 10 placement earns you 1 point (total of 10 points available)
Each correct draft placement earns you 3 points (total of 30 points available)
Chain your picks! Each player added to your chain earns you 1 additional point (Total of 10 points available)

Please List your Top 10 here and complete the poll above to make your selections!  The poll will lock at 3:00pm PST June 22nd, the first day of the draft (Round 1).  The top 31 prospects on the combined consensus list will be included in the selection process. (Any player projected to be in the 2nd round will be excluded) The list used to compile the top 31 players is from Canucks Army Dated April 20th, 2018 (List is compiled among averages from 12 of the top scouting lists)

So for clarification purposes:

A Correct Pick Placement is a pick that is selected at the correct draft spot with the correct player.  If Rasmus Dahlin goes first overall and you have him #1 you have a "Correct Pick Placement".  If you have Rasmus Dahlin #2 and he goes number #1 that is not a correct pick placement.  (Points are handed out though for players selected in the top 10. So even if you picked wrong you can still earn a point to keep you in the game!)

  1. Dahlin (Buffalo Sabres)
  2. Svechnikov (Carolina Hurricanes)
  3. Zadina (Montreal Canadians) - they need scoring; they have seen him play a lot due to Zadina playing at QMJHL
  4. Boqvist (Ottawa Senators) - supposedly an "Erik Karlsson clone"
  5. Tkachuk (Arizona Coyotes) - father Keith used to play for Phoenix
  6. Hughes (Detroit Red Wings) - they've seen him play a lot as he currently plays for University of Michigan
  7. Bouchard (Vancouver Canucks) - 'Nucks hoping that his Knights connection with Juolevi will make 1+1 = 3 (NOTE: I prefer Boqvist or Hughes or Dobson over Bouchard)
  8. Smith (Chicago Blackhawks) - Ty patterns his game after Duncan Keith
  9. Wahlstrom (New York Rangers) - Walstrom is not that far from playing in the NHL; Rangers will like that he can play W or C
  10. Dobson (Edmonton Oilers) - they like their players big; their D is porous

Blackhawks is actually really tricky to get a feel for. And I think Bouchard might go higher than where I have him. Hard draft to map out after the top 3. For my dumbass at least. Lol

Yeah lol. Arizona is a tricky team because they love analytics so much.  Bouchard, Hughes, and Wahlstrom all have amazing stats and strong analytics.

Brobidus' 2018 Top 10 Draft Selections

 1.) Rasmus Dahlin (Buffalo Sabres)

 2.) Andrei Svechnikov (Carolina Hurricanes)

 3.) Filip Zadina (Montreal Canadians)

 4.) Quinton Hughes (Ottawa Senators)

 5.) Brady Tkachuk (Arizona Coyotes)

 8.) Evan Bouchard (Chicago Blackhawks)

9.) Oliver Wahlstrom (New York Rangers)

10.) Ty Smith (Edmonton Oilers)

Notes: I'm basing this off of fit, just as much as the "tiers" of prospects. I doubt this actually happens, but my thinking process goes like:

Svechnikov on the other side of Aho is going to be a treat to watch in the future. I couldn't remember if Carolina was a little biased against Russians, but you really can't go wrong here. I also like the fit of Zadina to Montreal. Seeing as he plays decently close to the team, their scouts will have watched enough of him and with the all the rumors, Zadina would be a nice replacement for Pacioretty.

I see Ottawa not being high on Boqvist, they have a decent stock of guys on the right. Karlsson hasn't yet moved. Their left side on the other hand is still a mess. I don't see them being high on Tkachuk's physical acumen either, so I see them being interested in Hughes. The Coyotes are thrilled to draft the son of their former captain, also that's an element they really would want to fill in, a physical power forward with potential higher than Crouse. With Detroit on the line, they go with Boqvist. They've got needs everywhere, but they don't have any high end defense prospects yet.

At our pick, I'm going with the sentiment that our scouts like Dobson higher than Bouchard. I like all of Wahlstrom, Bouchard and Dobson, but I see Dobson being the better fit with everything that Benning has described wanting in a player.

Chicago then takes the future replacement for Keith/Hjalmarsson. They've got a nice spot on the right side that can be filled sooner rather than later, and Wahlstrom isn't exactly the biggest need for them, seeing as their RW depth is decent for the next while. And then to end this, Edmonton takes the best defender left.

Final edited June 21.

189lb enforcers?

 1.) R. Dahlin (Buffalo Sabres)

 2.) A. Svechnikov (Carolina Hurricanes)

 3.) J. Kotkaniemi (Montreal Canadians)

 4.) F. Zadina (Ottawa Senators)

 5.) B. Tkachuk (Arizona Coyotes)

6.) E. Bouchard (Detroit Red Wings)

 7.) N. Dobson (Vancouver Canucks)

 8.) A. Boqvist (Chicago Blackhawks)

9.) O. Wahlstrom (New York Rangers)

10.) Q. Hughs (Edmonton Oilers)

1. Lock

2. Lock

3. Need a centerman

4. Need to replace Hoffman’s scoring.

5. Bloodlines

6. Ready and safe

7. Less ready and safe

8. Aging Dcore. High ceiling player to replace Keith

9. Need quality, safe picks after shameless Tank

10. Obvious

- Montreal and Boqvist’s concussion history factor into how I made my list.

- Hughs at 10th? The Dmen are all completely interchangeable parts, IMO, with the runts going later.

- I think JB will take the safe pick, but I hope he goes for Boqvist, if he is available.

- Personally, from what I’ve seen as an amateur, I’d take BT as high as # 3.

- Ottawa could draft BT and sell him to Calgary or they could offer the pick to Colorado this year.
