they interviewed 78 of the 104 players at the combine....I'd be shocked if they excluded Tkachuk.

It was a reference to them not even talking to his older brother.

I actually think JB/TL like this Tkachuk enough to interview him.

Cheers!

Fwiw, here's another quote from Benning: "The last few years the game has gotten so fast. D-Men need to be mobile, skate & get back to get the puck. We're seeing now d-men can beat the 1st forechecker and get the puck up ice. Those are the successful d-men in the league now."

Sounds like every D man ranked in the top ten other than Bouchard.

Just found this quote from Benning ...

"We're going to select Wahlstrom, Dobson or Hughes. Hopefully we can pry away Edmonton's #10 without giving up too much. And Tanev, we're looking to sell high now before he gets injured next season. Cumorall tisess! Crap mo stank. Round stank alardem!"

Sorry ...

That was Ed Bassmaster!

Carry on.

Just wanted to point out the following Jim Benning quotes:

  • on Quinn Hughes' performance during the World Hockey Championship: "The way he skates, it helped him on the big surface because he could get back and carry the puck up ice, and it was just magnified on the big ice. We thought he was REAL GOOD.
  • On Elias Pettersson: "He’s a highly-skilled player, smart. He makes players that he plays with better. We’ve been following him all year. He played with Jonathan Dahlen this year and there was good chemistry between the two of them. That even went into (our thinking). We know these two guys are REAL GOOD together.
