oldnews
the history of D and RW taken at 7th overall is interesting, but not really relevent to who will be the BPA at 7 in this draft.

He is too slow and he doesn't have the speed, finesse and playmaking ability of Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes is the type of D Canucks need, not another Gudbranson type of player. Either Hughes, Boqvist or Wahlstrom I would be happy with.

darinbadershouldamadeit
I would love to get Wahlstrom this is my draft board for the Canucks... I have Hughes and Wahlstrom as equals on my draft board, with Hughes edging Wahlstrom out by a nose hair... My Choices: A: What wont be there Dahlin Svetchnikov Zadina Bouchard Tkachuk B: What probably won't drop to them that I like: All of the above except Tkatchuk Hughes C: What might be possible to take and how they range in my mind: Hughes Wahlstrom Dobson Kotkaniemi D. Players I would trade down to get if one or two of them were overlooked and I could get extra picks (and still get a great player): Wahlstrom Dobson Kotkaniemi Boqvist Ty Smith

Well it was the playoffs so everyone is kind of beat up still he was on one of the last eight teams still in contention for the cup. Plus let's not forget that he was in last year's finals. oldnews
I won't be surprised if Wahlstrom is taken before the 7 spot - or before Tkachuk. One thing worth keeping in mind aside from his toolbox - he's nine months younger than BT - with a June 2000 birthdate vs Sept 99. In addition, he's the rarer / more valuable right handed shot. If it's up to me I probably take him over Tkachuk - or at the very least, it's no easy or clear decision imo. I think Wahlstrom is the more talented player. The question of whether he's riding the production of Hughes - I recall the same doubts about Matthew Tkachuk on a Knights team with Dvorak and Marner. The Canucks may already be 'rich' in young RW talent - Boeser, Virtanen, Lind, Lockwood (and Gaudette, who might play wing early in his career) - but Virtanen can play LW and is effective on his off-side (and Gaudette likely to wind up a center in due course) and regardless of whether RW is a spot of organizational depth, if Wahlstrom is considered the BPA at 7, despite the org need for a RHPMD, I think you have to go with BPA regardless. Having a 1/2 punch like Boeser and Wahlstrom would be simply deadly. The 7 spot imo is in the wheelhouse enough to consider it on the edge of the second tier of talent in the draft - and personally I won't be disappointed whatsoever if the Canucks wind up with Wahlstrom, or Dobson or whomever is left on the board. jimmyking8888
If Wahlstrom is at seven, take him and run. I am not a Bouchard fan.
