Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted Friday that one person is in custody and a second person has been detained following the Friday morning shooting at Santa Fe High School. Gonzalez says a police officer was injured but the extent of the officer's injuries is unknown. Dr. David Marshall is chief nursing officer at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He says one man was undergoing surgery at the hospital Friday morning following the shooting. You average more than a shooting a week where innocent young children in a 1st world country are being murdered for no god damn reason. Pretty god awful when you think about it. SYH all you want but if you want to stop these things its going to take a political solution, and at this point in the US where theres one of these per week "too soon" is a pretty lame argument. When you have a situation in the US where the gun lobby is funnelling 10's of millions into illegal campaign contributions they've bought a president. It's the Constitution - which has put limitations on the government to protect the fundamental rights of US citizens. The "people" have to change it - not the Government nor the NRA.
