And we expected if we didn't get it done now, eventually we'd have to deal with an offersheet. It's been a good run, and glad I am enjoying it now, because there will have to be some changes next season to balance the cap.

I'm also glad that so many playoff players are being traded to the contenders in the Pacific/West.

Master Mind
We're looking for feedback on a new type of trade that hasn't been done before. How would you feel about a trade like this? To CBJ: Kucherov To COL: Future Considerations* *COL receives Scheifele and Kessel if CBJ wins cup *COL receives Hedman and Marchard if CBJ doesn't win cup (this is just an example btw, we have no idea if CBJ and COL are in trade talks) In either scenario, CBJ gets Kuch for the playoff run, and doesn't trade away players until the off season. This is funny because SV literally tried to do it last year with Kopitar. It takes away any integrity of a trade 1

But also, I’d have no problem if we allowed it. Though it’s no different than what I did with @Sygvard and @Sestito'sHandMadeVodka last spring. We gambled draft picks based on who won the cup.

Agreed. Not yet banned, but should be. Same spirit as any of those other "loan" trades that we banned before. Be pretty easy for me to say "X team gets as much of my roster as they like. Future considerations to give players back later once they win" Stacks one team to win the cup and the other to tank. Betting picks or whatever i have no issue with (obviously, since I did it). That doesnt impact the outcome.

Like, it kinda is different, in the sense that our move had no bearing on the result of the season. If we had made that bet (for what, a couple spots up and down in the second) and then turned around and "loaned" our players to our horse for free, thats pretty sleazy.
