Looks like McAvoy only played 10 professional games last season. My memory of the CBA, was that a professional season has to have atleast 11 games. Very quick negotiations. In the day that I’ve been GM, I’ve grown incredibly close to Fleury. However, didn’t see a reason to keep on two legitimate starters. In need of a backup, Chicago is on the lookout for goalies in the minors. Willing to part with stuff for another thing. Both sides knew what they wanted here and it was quite easy to figure out a deal. We are extremely excited to welcome Marc-Andre into our organization, he provides us with a top end option in net that we feel we missed at some times last season. We are exploring trade options on Semyon Varlamov now. With Bernier testing FA IRL, Semyon will be the undisputed #1 goalie next year in Colorado, a likely playoff team.
