Now....

If Im John Tavares, Im SUPER curious on an interview with the folks in San Jose.

Couture

Pavelski

Hertl

Hoffman

Kane

Donskoi

Mier

They got 2 awesome D in Vlasic and Burns, a solid netminder.

Gonna be some great teams in our division visiting The Rog

Sharks are bonafide choke artists

Doesn't help the Canucks if they want to make the step of making the playoffs.

Wether his gf did or did not do it is irrelevant at this point. With this scandal one had to go and if it were you would you trade Karlsson instead?

True.  It’s give away Hoffman, or for certain lose EK.

You can say that all you want but you know what? They've spoiled their fans by constantly being in the playoffs every year, scout and draft well, make bold moves, take risks that usually  bring medium to great success.

Basically....they are an organization as a whole that tries.

They've successfully cycled out their versions of Sedins(Thornton/Marleau) and now replaced them whereas we cant even say we did that

Plus they've owned us for how many years now.

Go ahead....poke fun at them dude

And why not? He walks onto a team that has talented wingers to play with. What would be his deterant?

You think Lou is gonna turn NYI around at a snap of a finger?

If Hoffman's gf is jealous of the Karlssons', she'll go nuts if Tavares doesn't pass it to him enough.

Compared to what the Sens could have got back at the deadline, this package sucks.

But considering the situation, not terrible for them. Bergman is a fairly decent prospect. If we got him, he'd probably be our 2nd best D prospect (in that giant chasm between Juolevi and...Brisebois?).

Of course, this was absolutely necessary to having any hope in hell of re-signing Karlsson.

Yuck.  Boedker is crap, much rather have Vanek even if 6 years older.  Sens basically just got rid of him.

Oh ya. Boedker is an up and down inconsistent player for sure. But Hoffman's value has tanked. At least the Sens got half a good player in Boetker. The half that shows up sometimes to play. Lol.

People keep saying Kane was "anti-character" or something but clearly don't know anything about him other than media rumors after they seen him take some stupid selfies in Vegas. Whatever, not the point.

Ottawa was smart to bite this on the butt early. Not a particularly good return but we all knew it'd be impossible to net fair value for Hoffman. Which sucks for Ottawa cause I doubt this whole thing effects his game. San Jose got a productive scorer for far below market value because his girlfriend may or may not be a complete psycho.

I wonder if this show of support for EK convinces him to stick around.

I know some feel this trade was won by Ottawa, but I don't think so.  With a fresh start, I think Hoffman will do real well in San Jose and what did Ottawa get back... an inconsistent guy who gets a point every second game and a defenceman who may never make it to the NHL?  That's not a lot.  Hoffman is a good player who is inconsistent himself but can can already put up near-first line points and plays that hard, to-the-net kind of game.

Assuming he doesn't plan to pick on any of the wives of his new teammates, I'd say San Jose won this deal.
