They should have traded down to 10/11 th since they were going off the board. Thanks Arizona!

I remember in the world juniors tournament in the semis I think the US coach was barely playing him, then late in the 3rd he started playing and was amazing and almost led a comeback. Now let's tank for his brother Jack, so we can be led by brohers again! I usually only join the tank when it is near the TDL but forget about that next season. I am here to pledge my loyalty to the 2019-2020 Canucks tank for Jack Hughes.

Welcome to Vancouver Canucks Quinn..... You'll be adored up here like nowhere else. When JB referenced brian leetch i went back to 94 and remembered all the times that leetch and richter were the defining players in that series.

Unlike what they had in 2009. I'm not calling them a championship team, there is much work left to do but they have a better and more balanced base than the 2011 team had Balanced base I agree. I don't see Sedins / Luongo caliber players on this team just yet (Pettersson could be one) but the wealth is better spread out now than when those guys carried the team. Hayden was going to go in the first round and people were saying the he could go higher to a team that wants C's. I thought that the nucks might have gone after him. As Benning said later you can't trade for C's these days they have to be developed. So I don't think people knew what the yotes were looking for but taking him is not what i call off the board. I always scratching my head a bit when pundits were saying the yotes would take a D. Everything I had read about them was that they were okay there. Regardless few people thought hughes would be there for us to take.

We have better wingers in the system than ever before. Gaudette is also frequently compared to Kesler but is a much better player than Kesler was at his age. It's hard to compare. Yes we don't have the Sedins, but we have some other elements we've never had before. I would also argue Demko is regarded as a star in the making, so our goaltending is looking quite good.

I think Boeser is in that category. Petterson? Ya, probably will be with the heart and determination he has... but I think Boeser is the first of the elite, elite that we have. everything is trending So right it’s not even funny. We’ve got the top end winger with one of the best shots in the nhl and the selke level workhorse 50-60 point centre already confirmed. Then add Petterson, the hopefully top end first line centre, 2 shots at a #1 goalie with one real close, and now the puck moving top end blueliner who skates like Coffey that we’ve always dreamed of haha. Never thought I’d see the day we had this much quality depth for key positions on our team.. and I didn’t even mention Tryamkin, Hockey Gaud, Jake, Dahlen or Oli. if we land Noel tomorrow I won’t be able to contain myself haha

I think montreal, ottawa and the yotes really messed up. I get it that centers are hard to come by, but i think those are moves that are saving there ass type moves. Not making the best selection long term. Honestly think a lot of our players are going to become better off the rush now, just because of hughes. PP 1 : Eriksson - Horvat - Pettersson Boeser - Hughes PP 2 : Gaudette - Sutter - Leipsic/Granlund? Baertschi - Edler Too early to tell. Needs work, definitely not digging that second pp. 1-3-1 Dahlen Boeser Horvat Pettersson Hughes 1
naslundfan921
Excited to have two blue-chip smart D Men in the system now. Heard Hughes say he could play either side so maybe one they form an elite top pairing for us. Camp will be interesting with these two pushing for spots as well. I am more conservative in my expectations though so I don't expect all of our kids to come up at once. I think gifting them spots is bad for their long-term development. Of our pool, I will predict only Gaudette and EP will crack the opening day roster with OJ initially being sent down but quickly returning when the inevitable injury hits and becoming a regular
