The Canucks out shoot their opponents 7-3 (for every total 10 shots) with Quinn on the ice. He is the best driver of play in the league. I'd like to see the comparable's for this stat. But holy cow thats amazing.

Some people thought Bouchard or Dobson, but really we all wanted the dynamic defenseman. I remember most drafts, I think to myself well I guess we will see how this pans out. But with Hughes I thought wow great pick.
Boudrias
Hughes season to date is stronger than I would have thought even with the hype he had received. You can see improvement with almost every game. The only question I can see is whether the 82 game schedule wears him down.

Quinn must be in phenomenal shape to handle this ice time and still skate like he has been. He took a few big hits yesterday sliding into the boards.. always worrys me. I can recall a few times he is either no where near the guy he needs to be or leaves his guy for no real reason and leaves his D partner out to dry. I love Hughes, but I think it's a mistake to play him this hard. Give Fantenberg and Benn a couple extra shifts each. They look good overall and it keeps all 3 fresh. It's a good learning experience for Hughes but I do worry it'll break him down before January/February. 3

After tonight, Canucks play only 5 games over 16 days, and all but one is at home (and the 1 road game is in Calgary). Fairly easy competition too (EDM, LAK, CGY, CHI, NYR). And by the end of it Edler should be back.

Yeah it does appear effortless and he always looks like he is never tired. Hughes does have some gaffs in his own zone but no defenseman goes through a season without looking like an idiot in his own zone at some point. If we are gonna win games with Edler out Tanev and Hughes are gonna play 25-30 minutes. Myers is unpredictable and Benn and Stech are top 6 D. Phat Fingers
Wow, Two days since anyone discussed how freaking awesome Quinn Hughes is as a player. Goal last night and a GWG to boot. Love that JB took a d man in the top ten and no one is calling for his head. Hughes has a huge advantage in the Calder race. His stamina has been really good. This guy can literally skate all day and all night. Most minutes played again last night and was instrumental in the win. I doubt any single rookie has had a greater total impact on his teams play that Hughes this year. 3

If he doesn’t miss too much time he is the frontrunner for Calder. But Hughes is indeed playing unreal this season. 35 points would have been a great rookie campaign for him in my eyes. He looks like he’ll smash my bar. Glad Eagle is back. Not a fan of how Hughes was deployed when Edler was injured.

Nuck1991
im here to thank hockey gods on this christmas day, mostly the great benning for drafting elite talent even after losing the rigged NHL lottery. I think we nailed the petey and hughes pick. I also want to thank detroit and montreal for passing on hughes. People were projecting (including me)35 to 40 points for hughes this year. Get outta here. This team needs a shutdown LD, Edler is not going to be here forever and a legit RD, Myers is not a top 2 althou he has done his job well so far May hockey gods bless canucks nation with a stanely cup soon.

IMO Quinns ability to tilt the ice and drive play is greater than Makar's who isn't as dynamic a skater. Makar has the better shot, is bigger, plays the right side and is a great skater. Quinn's skating and his impact on possession and shot differentials is unparalleled for a rookie IMO. Not a flashy as goals, but maybe a bigger team need and of more benefit over the long term.
