Popular Post stanleysteamersmyl
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – After posting 17 points for the No. 8 Northeastern men's hockey team in the month of November, sophomore Tyler Madden has been named the Hockey East Player of the Month, as announced by the conference Monday. The monthly honor marks Madden's first since joining the Huskies last season and his second conference recognition of the 2019-20 campaign. Madden was an offensive catalyst for the Huskies last month, recording seven goals and dishing out 10 assists in Northeastern's 10 November contests. The pinnacle of the Deerfield Beach, Fla. native's month came during the Huskies weekend opener against Maine, when the sophomore recorded his first career hat trick and matched his previous career-high four points. Throughout the month of November, Madden led the team in multi-point games, recording four. The forward closed out the month tied for first in the nation in goal scoring with 12 goals and third in the nation in points with 22. Additionally, Madden ranks third in the conference in point scoring with 1.38 points per game and is tied for first in goal scoring. Madden and the Huskies return to action this weekend, taking on crosstown rival Boston University on the road this Saturday, December 7 at 7 p.m. 1 1
Fred65
Interesting to note that N'Eastern are outside the top 10 NCAA ranking. They're ranked 12th in the nation and Harvard ( Rathbone) are 17th n the ranking

Fred65
Unfortunately his team N'Eastern are not ranked in the top 10. Who knows he might have better numbers with a top team there again on a tip team he might get less ice time

komodo0921
I am really intrigued with how things will play out with Mr. Madden. Is he the final piece to our center core? Admittedly, I've not seen him play but, reports indicate a responsibility in all three zones and hi stats showcase real elevation of his offensive game. The problem could be; When does he get his shot?
Googlie
A Sutter/ Beagle replacement? Then with Petey's defensive awareness, Green could have his wildest dream granted and could play 4 shut down lines with counterattack potential. Get a goal in the first couple of shifts in the game then protect the lead for 59 minutes.

Madden’s two years away so by then one of Sutter or Beagle will gone.
dpn1
I have a feeling Madden will be better than Adam because of his defensive acumen. Edited January 3, 2020 by dpn1

Something tells me Green isn't a sit on a one goal lead type of coach. Add in more counter attack only boosts our offense further. I guess to the real question is how is Madden on the dump and chase?

Most rookies do. Even our all star has a lot more work to do on the dot. Im not worried about Gaudette's defence this year. He's getting used to a faster league and more skilled players in the centre position. Considering he spent most of his time last season on the wing or press box/ plane Im not surprised he's been subpar in his own zone this year

Face offs are probably still the weakest part of his game, but he is improving. Won 6 out of 9 against the Hawks.
