Stierlitz
BTW Manukyan got surgery after the hand injury in preseason game on Aug 15 and did not play a single regular game yet. Maybe this explains why he gets just 1-year extension. Edited October 1, 2019 by Stierlitz

Quantum
Manukyan returned from his hand injury a week or two ago. He's got 2 goals and 1 assist in 6 games. That's pretty solid for a guy who was out for 5 months with a hand injury. Also, for those who have The Athletic, Scott Wheeler has been doing a prospect pool breakdown series of each team and though he puts Manukyan as his Honourable Mention because of the injury, he does speak glowingly of him in the article... basically stating that he sees Manukyan as someone who could make an impact in the NHL in his mid twenties if he keeps his trajectory going. Pretty cool to hear. Also, the Canucks hold Manukyan's rights indefinitely (for some reason, there's no limit to holding a Russian player's rights after you draft'em... that's why Dmitry Zhukenov is still Canucks property) so there's no rush to sign him. Manukyan having been given a 1 year extension might be whats best for him in the long run as he'll get 1 more year of KHL seasoning before probably making the jump to Vancouver in the 2021-2022 season. 2

N4ZZY
he was a long shot regardless, right? hoping that he still recovers quickly, and is able to get on track with regards to his development, even if he's a long shot to make it to the NHL . grandmaster
I was intrigued when this guy was drafted as I am of Armenian heritage myself but I don’t know what they were thinking. This guy is as tiny as they come and was not exactly a kid (he was 20 when drafted). Really, the guy is literally 5 feet tall and 138lbs! That’s smaller than even Madden
