The worlds what?  7th best men's league?

2112HockeyAgency (they find placements for players across Europe) ranks them 9th in Europe so 11th with NHL/AHL.

KHL, SHL, NLA, Liiga, Czech, DEL, EBEL, NLB and then Allsvenskan.

The Champions Hockey League also ranks SHL to EBEL in the same order based on the results of that competition.

tonight Utica went with 10 forwards and 8 dman despite having two healthy forwards in Palmu and Gadjovich.  Doesn't sound like Cull has been happy with them two.

Despite how happy he is with them, that is a stupid thing to do.

They both should be in the ECHL and that is not meant to be a slam against them. Just a statement of where they are in their development right now.

Gadjovich Is a complete  waste of space. Can't skate , won't touch anyone, won't use his size...... Both Palmu and Gadjovich need some ECHL time to see if they can get their footing cause it's never gonna happen in the AHL.

And these are the supposed rookies the canucks didn't want Gagner taking ice time from?????? They have ECHL defenseman playing ahead of them.....

Think about that..........

Meanwhile from the owner of the Syracuse Crunch 50 miles down the road. The team is winning, the kids are contributing and they have great veteran leadership (they always do).  And you know what? Both Syracuse and Tampa Bay have had their share of injuries too.

Better management = better results.

An observation having watched every game this season. Although an average AHL winger, I think the Comets are sorely missing the physical presence of Vincent Arseneau.  He's retaliated against cheap shots on team mates including the young players 3 times and unfortunately hurt his hand in the last beat down of the Wolfpack's Shawn O'Donnell 5 games ago.  Not 1 fighting penalty against a Comet since then even though the Comets have had 9 fights this season.  You don't see many greasy goals in the crease this season and a lot of missed opportunities on breakaways and 2 v 1 situations.  Shots in the chest of the goaltender or outright misses. Very few snipes.

Also it takes top flight management that actually know what the AHL is about.. Not a bunch of clowns that think putting 4th line grinders with a bunch of over hyped rookies is actually going to be successful.....

That is another problem with how the team was assembled. far too many smaller type forwards that can not stand up for themselves, put that with rookie "skill" guys and it gets even worse. There is very little pushback on the defense as well. from what this looks like the Canucks must have figured this team to be a skilled scoring machine that would make teams stay outta the box.

Instead, we have one AHL level center, a bunch of 4th line grinders and rookies that are completely lost. This team needs playmaking centers and more size on the wings.to protect the youngsters. the team has far too many 5-10/5-11 smallish type forwards whom are just not very good. Chaput should have been replaced with another Center his size with some pushback. this team skates like they are at the icecapades not a hockey game.....

I would send Archie and Gaunce down and bring up Dahlen. Dahlen can rotate with Goldobin in and out for a few games Send Gadjovich and Palmu to the ECHL to get some playing time.

I'd be fine with that. Dahlen looks like he hates being here anyway. Too good for the AHL attitude is what I see out of him and very part of the losing culture that has taken over this team.
