RetroCanuck Posted June 27, 2018 Share Posted June 27, 2018 To Dallas Baer+ Hutton (or DelZotto) + Nilsson To Van Honka+Spezza+3rd Canucks get Honka who hasn't seemed to fit in well with Dallas so far, a third and take Spezza as a cap dump. Dallas gets a middle six winger, a young defensemen that needs a change of scenery and a good backup goalie. Basically just a bunch of guys that need a change of scenery, but we give up a little more to get a right shot D. Run a lineup of Leipsic-Bo-Boeser Goldy-Pettersson-Eriksson Gaunce-Sutter-Virtanen Granlund-Gaudette-Gagner Edler-Guddy Del Zotto/Hutton-Stecher Juolevi-Tanev Pouliot-Honka Marky Demko Thoughts? cbdoubleu Posted June 27, 2018 Share Posted June 27, 2018 If Dallas does get Tavares, they would definitely like to shed Spezza's contract, but maybe something like this: To Dallas Tanev+4th To Vancouver Spezza+Honka+2nd That gives Dallas Lindell-Kling and then Heiskanen-Tanev & Methot-Johns. I think Dallas is still very much excited about Honka's ability to be another puck mover and creator to give them more of an attack when Kling isn't on the ice, but landing Tavares might put them in enough of a win now mode that they move talent for more experienced stability while giving Heiskanen a great D partner. danaimo Posted June 28, 2018 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Wait to see if Dallas signs Tavares, if they do, they will almost certainly have to dump the Spezza contract which means the acquiring team can demand a greater sweetener because pressure would be on Dallas to get under the salary cap.
