-Vintage Canuck-
Antoine Roussel on Sportsnet 650: On his injury recovery: "It's getting there. I'm on pace for the recovery time they told me. It's nice to be back and with the team and it's a big weight off my shoulder." On Canucks adds this off-season: "The additions we've made this year have been great. They have pedigree already, know what to do, and just want to be part of the team." On what he has to do to get back to playing level: "My quads have shrunk a bit so I have to bring that muscle back up to be back to playing level. I started skating a couple weeks ago and it's been good." 1

Oregon.Duck
This guy was scoring at .5ppg while #2 in league for PIM. He was a beast. Lots of folks forget he’s on the team but man hoping he’s back sooner rather than later. 1
kloubek
Our team already looks bigger and more tenacious as it is. Once this guy is healthy and shakes the rust off, he will contribute even more to our bottom 6 in all respects. If we make it to the playoffs (and we will) we should be a really hard team to play against. That's one of the things I love about this rebuild - it has happened with the ultimate goal in mind, with big character guys who can produce. That's why I want to see guys like Eriksson and Goldobin gone. I'd rather have Roussel and Gaudette in the lineup than those two.

Well there is no doubt Benning is working hard to move a player since there is just no room when Roussel comes back and the winger pool is already congested as it is. You will get your wish eventually. Gaudette looked great this preseason. Just remember - Ty Rattie did too last preseason for the Oil. I feel he will be sent down but if he continues his strong play in the AHL they will find a way to get him up here.

Slegr
Can someone remind me, do we currently have the cap space to have him return to the roster in November? Or will we need to make any slight adjustments?

Only implications are roster spots.

Assuming we waive Eriksson (given he's presently in the press box), we should actually save $1,075,000 (pro rated) of space. That is scheduled for the last week of November, and potential comback is early December.
WHL rocks
Roussel will be a very good addition when he gets healthy. Our 3rd line will be lights out with him. Team gets deeper. Love his game.

Going to be and exciting year.

I think he's going to retire after this season. Naslund retired in NYR when he couldn't cut it up to his standards. Swedes seem to be honorable people. I don't think JB will waive him. Discourages UFAs signing if you do that. He likely collects his check this season. Plays when injury to another player requires him to be in lineup and retires next summer. Philthy
Wonder what the plan will be with Roussel when he returns, He's to much of a presence to keep him benched.. But Schaller, Motte and Beagle have looked pretty damn good.

Maybe part of the reason why Schaller, Motte, and some of the other guys have looked like they would die for the team is because we finally have some depth? Rousell and Gaudette are pushing. Plus, the guys in Utica are doing really good too. Pressure to play hard is good.

Roussel and Gaudette being depth is pretty unreal considering where were at this time last year.. I agree, could also help with some load management for some of those long road trips if this team is destined for the playoffs.. I'm wondering why Gaudette didn't get in for Sutter against the Rangers? Back to back games was a good spot to rest Sutter.
