Just read that Brian May had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago. Luckily, he seems to have recovered after having 3 stents implanted to clear artery blockages.

So glad to hear this.....I couldn't handle losing another one of my heroes....

Can't find anything on their website or Cuomo's twitter account. National media is super quiet. Funny how it all works.

Immediately thought of this and I was glad to see others have already picked up on it.

The below was a response to the above but the right has spent an inordinate amount of time complaining about Kaepernick while not even acknowledging the reason for his protest. "Get that son of a bitch off the field"

I was talking about the coverage of the protests in Minneapolis and the police retaliating with smoke grenades and rubber bullets etc...

Yeah, not sure about that part....could be you saw it on Twitter right away, because it's such an immediate medium. Takes a bit longer for the networks to get their stuff together.

Either way, there's no hiding this. The segment I watched on Cuomo's show yesterday had Amy Klobuchar as a guest. She isn't satisfied with the firings....she wants charges laid against these cops, as do most reasonable people.....

Federal ministers and key government officials (including constituency office and ministerial staff, especially deputy ministers handling strategic or mission-critical portfolios) should be banned from using known surveillance, espionage, or otherwise compromised software.

Federal minister's WeChat account contained link to group looking to sue Canadian media outlet

Minister of Digital Government Joyce Murray's office says the post 'in no way' represents her views

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced questions today about why a WeChat account belonging to one of his ministers contained a post directing people to a campaign raising money to sue a Canadian news organization.

"The minister of digital government has been promoting a fundraising campaign to sue Global News for their story that criticized the Chinese Communist Party," Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said during question period Tuesday.

"We Chat is a Chinese state-sanctioned social media platform that is monitored by communist state security … Clearly this is inappropriate. What action has the prime minister taken in light of these revelations?"

Trudeau said he values the work journalists do right across the country and the posting was not sanctioned by his party or his government.

"Attacking the integrity of hard-working journalists is absolutely unacceptable," Trudeau said.

"The individual who posted this link on this particular group is no longer a member of this group and is not affiliated with the electoral district association in question."

According to a Vancouver based news website, theBreaker.news, the WeChat group for Minister of Digital Government Joyce Murray contained a link directing people to a campaign run by the Maple Leafs Anti-Racism Actions Association.

The association, which describes itself as "Canadian citizens and permanent residents" battling racism in Canada, said it wants to sue Global News and reporter Sam Cooper for an April 30 story detailing China's aggressive moves to import vast quantities of personal protective equipment in the early days of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

'Unacceptable'

Murray's office says her WeChat account is a tool the Vancouver MP uses to stay in touch with the Chinese Canadian community and that the views of participants in the group "do not necessarily reflect" the minister's positions.

"This particular post was unacceptable and in no way reflects the MP's views," a statement from the minister's office said.

"Participation in this group is guided by posted guidelines and a disclaimer. In this case, guidelines were not followed and the individual who posted is no longer in this group."

On its fundraising page, which is written in English and Chinese, the Maple Leafs Anti-Racism Actions Association alleges Global's report "in so far as relating to the portrayal of the Chinese-Canadian community is inaccurate, unbalanced, and was written to intentionally cause harm to the character of the Chinese-Canadian community."

To "right the wrong," the association said it is soliciting donations to explore "the feasibility of mounting a class action lawsuit" and to "demand an apology ... as well as compensation for damages."

I never understood destroying your own neighborhood mentality in people.

Yes, you are angry, trying to get attention, fight inequality, change things, tired of peaceful protests etc.

But at the end of the day, you still will have to live there.

There are dregs in every community and these hooligans can only be described as that. I don't even believe these people are angry, they are just greedy POSs who turn a peaceful protest into a riot so that they can capitalize on the chaos. If you come out in protest of the man that was slain and his grieving family, you don't behave this way. No matter how great the cause there will always be a small minority of selfish assholes who ruin everything for everyone.

I agree with @Toews There are always clowns who want to capitalize on these types of protests so they can get in some vandalism and looting....

....whether they actually care that the police murdered and unarmed man, is up for debate, but my opinion would be "not likely".

I've never practiced any sort of Martial Art (other than "Chair") but I can easily tell that having a 200 lb man kneeling on your neck with all of his weight is going to severely limit your ability to breathe....

No kidding but I thought it was an interesting take from someone knows his Jui Jitsu. He is quite experienced in police interactions too ( had a few troubles himself)

What Jon is pointing out though is that it not just that the man is 200lbs, it's also the very nasty technique he is using.

I trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu and American Kenpo, we did plenty of choke holds.

You do not need to be an expert to realize that kneeling on man’s neck for 10 minutes will cause harm or death.

Me too..It's a kneeling Bloodchoke.

JJ agrees with you.

I posted Jon's take because he is one of the best fighters ever to step in the cage. He has felt these choke attempts more than any of us. He described what the cops were doing for 6 mins, would be pure torture.

Here's an example how the media distorts the truth:

‘Armed rednecks’ defend stores from looters amid George Floyd protests

https://nypost.com/2020/05/28/armed-rednecks-stave-off-looters-amid-george-floyd-protests/

They don't mention the 2 Black Americans - so are they "rednecks" too?

Instead it should be telling the story of racial diversity, that is, how it doesn't matter the colour of your skin, instead of segregation.

They called themselves 'heavily armed rednecks'.
