Absolute head-scratcher of a deal that further confirms imo how incompetent a GM he's become. Just got lifted of Tavares by Toronto, and then does them a favour in the wake of it. Makes you wonder what's going on there. Can't blame Tavares, tbh, for moving on. Personally, would rather see the Isles in the hands of Garth Snow. Unless the Leafs expect to lose one of them to waivers (most likely Garret Sparks)... Good cap dump for the Leafs. Decent pick up for the Islanders.
