Something fishy about this.   A scope procedure to repair a torn meniscus does not take 5 to 6 months.

Bergevin would have known about this on draft day and he still passed on a defensemen. Reached down 7 spots. Still employed.

This makes more sense and sounds like far more than a “tear”.

I wonder if he actually plays again, or if he is  (after trying to play) put on LTIR for the remainder of his contract?  He’s clearly not retiring with the dollars still coming his way.

Exactly what I was thinking. Had one surgery to repair my meniscus in my mid twenties, was about 6 weeks til I felt 100%. Then ten years later had all the meniscus from my other knee removed, degenerative, unrepairable damage. My recovery was about 8weeks.

yeah but the habs

brought bobby orr's knee doctor out of retirement

to do the surgery

since he had so much experience

and back then 6 to 8 months was the normal recovery period

so i think that answers all those who doubt what is being said

:P

As a kid, used to get similar tears in the jean pockets, that would eventually get bigger. Loose change would start to disappear.

This might aptly represent the Habbies' cap-scenario.
