Jets will definitely sign the one year deal. I think they will look really hard at trading him though.

I think they will look really hard at trading him though. Trouba will probably allow the Jets to net a solid return, especially since he's still a RFA after the end of this contract. They also need to re-sign Morrissey this summer. My guess is the Jets will be deciding between Myers and Trouba since Myers is a UFA next season. If Trouba is intent on leaving then my guess is they'll keep Myers. If the Jets did not have their own cap troubles, I would guess that the Leafs might try to acquire Trouba but I'm not sure what the Jets would want in return besides picks and prospects. Perhaps a package involving a Liljegren and a 1st Round pick? I could see the Leafs being more willing to part with those assets for Trouba than for Tanev since Tanev is quite a bit older. The Leafs could then also ship out a forward if there are cap problems and, for the Jets, a prospect + pick heavy package would allow them to fit in their cap. -Vintage Canuck-
William Karlsson is asking for $6.5 million in salary arbitration, while the team countered with $3.5 million.
Gaudette Celly
Yes it was one season, but 43 goals for a 25-year-old is worth $3.5 million? It's not like he was BJ MadDonald riding shotgun with Gretzky. Would like to hear how McPhee can legitimize that. If that's "market rate" then lock up Brock for 3.25x8. Dazzle
23 hours ago, mll said: Mark Stone: Wow, I get it... 5M is probably underpaying Stone for his consistent numbers. But asking for 9M, even to negotiate salary, is, I think, a way to get traded. If the team does decide to keep him, he'll be paid more than he's worth (i.e. 6, 7, 8 mill). Eugene Melnyk put himself in this situation when all the players literally hate him.
