-Canucks start the season 1-8-1 which makes for good times here on CDC (half of CDC, Bitchford, Pratt and Gallagher go all out apoplectic anuerysm calling for JB’s head on a platter prompting Franny to pop off 12 tweets in support of him)

-combover, kingofsurrey and guardian get another season of itoldyouso to lord over the faithful (I cant’t wait for the 2 seasons after this one where we make the playoffs and then ride Demko to the finals in 20/21). Sorry there 3amigos but JB isn’t going anywhere

-Brock suffers the dreaded sophomore slump and scores 22 goals and 33 assists prompting calls of bust by some here

-Bo scores 33 goals and 22 assists through sheer will and determination

-Our goaltending is so bad that many pine for the glory days of Potvin and Snow

-there are at least 3 vets traded for picks in the 2019 draft

-Ovie is still drunk to start the season and his first goal of the season is a bar down own goal

-We finish 28th ahead of Montreal, Arizona and dead last Ottawa

-Laffs and Vegas miss the playoffs, however Calgary and Edmonton make them

-Predators win the Cup over Tampa in 6

Ok here we go

Horvat leads the team in scoring , 30 goals and 40 assists- 70 points

Boeser scores 35 but doesnt have the assists total to match Horvat. 25 assists, 60 points

Petterson struggles at center, provides some offense but not what some people think he will get, 25 goals, 30 assists=55 points

Leipsic, Virtanen, Sutter Eriksson, all over achieve in points as the attention is on the aforementioned players.

Goldobin is waived by Christmas as he still cant score or defend.

Gaudette lights up the AHL and is brought up by Christmas as the team struggles to score

The power play gets more chances than last year but doesn't have the same success, no scoring from the D hurts the team again.

30 games in Green realizes the best way to use the D is to have Edler and Gudbranson together instead of trying to spread them through the lineup

Tanev and Hutton become a good pairing.

Biega and Juolevi end up in Vancouver by Christmas as the usual injury bug hits the D hard.

Markstrom plays well. keeping the Canucks in a lot of games but Nillsson cannot stop a beach ball again.

Canucks finish 37-35-10 for 84 points but still are not a wild card team.  we draft 12th.

First year of the next era will be exciting as a lot of young players in the NHL and outside looking in push to make the line-up.  This helps us make a modest step towards relevance in our division again, but we still will be a bottom ten lottery team, even if we are relatively healthy.  Or we make a late season push and get a wild card spot beating out EDM the last game of the regular season.  McDavid cries on national TV, Cherry blasts him and decides to cheer on the Canucks because TO flops and doesn't make the playoffs.

Boeser avoids sophomore slump and scores forty goals joining an elite group of former Canucks that have managed that feet.

Pettersson takes a bit to get his footing in the pre-seaoson, but comes out guns ablazing the first half but struggles as the season wears on.

His buddy Dahlen gets some games and doesn't disappoint and re-ignites Pettersson at the end of the year, he wins the Calder.

Markstrom continues to struggle with early goals but is otherwise good, Demko gets some games and passes Markstrom in career shut-outs his first month.

Edler or Tanev gets traded at the deadline, Sutter too, Gaudette makes him expendable.

L.E scores 55 points playing with Pettersson.  Thank god.

Utica loses in the Calder Cup final...because Demko is breaking Markstoms shut-out record.

Hughes gets some games late and doesn’t disappoint.   Gudbranson is healthy and plays great all year too, shades of W. Mitchell.

We are a bubble team at the TDL and Benning drops the boom also trading Bear, Granlund and Hutton despite having career years, adding Sutter and Tanev/Edler, we end up with two extra firsts, three seconds and a third next draft....we draw third and use these picks to draft Quintons brother ....

The following year we start a decade plus of consistent playoff  appearances...

Boeser scores 36 goals.

Bo scores 30 goals.

Virtanen scores 13 goals.

Pettersson plays the first half of the season at RW and the second half at C, scoring 20 goals in total.

Either Edler or Tanev get dealt at the TDL.

Hughes does not start the season with the team, but when injuries hit he is signed and called up. When the team is healthy again he stays as a 7th D.

A fourth line of Schaller - Beagle - Roussel rack up a total of 205 PIM by the end of the season.

The Canucks start off the season like they are shot out of cannon.

In the beginning, the first 35 games;

The PP is on fire, Boeser and Horvat on the first unit improve PP goals.

Beagle shows some unexpected scoring skills

Edler shines in this his contract year

Eriksson plays with Pettersson and improves his numbers due high level passes

The D relies heavily on Tanev and Edler in their own zone.

Stecher steps up and scores more often

The team is challenging for the top until November 20th,

By December 1 they are either in a playoff spot or close but only by 4 points.

A fan waiting above the entrance to the Canucks locker room tunnel goes up to Pettersson and films himself saying "I want to walk with Elias", spawning a new meme.

Plus, some 69-related predictions:

Boeser will become the first NHL player since Mario Lemieux to score exactly 69 goals in a season.

Pettersson will become the first player in Canucks history to score exactly 69 assists in a season.

Horvat will become the first Canuck since Thomas Gradin to score exactly 69 points in a season.

Baertschi and Boeser will pass Brent Sopel to enter the top 69 in Canucks all-time points.

Petrus Palmu will become the third player in NHL history to wear #69.

The Canucks will win 69 combined regular season and playoff games to win their first Stanley Cup.

69.

Pettersson is a Calder finalist, over 60 points. We finish with ~5 more points than last year.

Julouvi plays more than 30 NHL games.

Baertchi sets career highs in all offensive categories.

Eriksson has his best season as a Canuck

Edited as of September 30th.

I just don't know what to expect.   High hopes all summer and the preseason has wilted my opinion.

29th finish , picking 3rd at the draft . That's all i have.

I'll most likely adjust these prior to the season starting:

- Horvat is named Captain

- Edler and Beagle are given the "A"s

- Baertschi is traded

- Sutter is traded

- Del Zotto is traded

- Demko takes over as starter by season's end

- Boeser scores over 40 goals

- Canucks are in a playoff spot in January, but drop in the standings down the stretch due to injuries.

-Canucks finish in the bottom 5

-Boeser has another strong season, scores 45 goals

-Horvat has a breakout year, gets 70 points

-Pettersson becomes a Calder finalist, but doesn't win it

-Virtanen improves slightly, scoring 30 points

I'll probably add more before the season begins
