May seem trivial..but sources tell me Putin, Trump insisted upon it, to move the world forward...

I like your take better. Trump was just with Putin all by themselves so I am in for some conspiracies.

Super athletic - tries a bit too hard to be "Hasek like" but kid is fearless.   With some decent coaching there is something there.   He had a stellar USHL season prior to turning pro last year.   His first year in pro was not stellar at all.

Well I hope you're right.

I don't know if I am but I trust Ian Clark and he was very high on this guy and brought him into the BJ's system and I am sure sees him as a long-term project.

Based on those numbers, I'd say he's in the mix for Kalamazoo.

Went straight from the USHL to the AHL & ECHL...interesting career path. Suspect he is signed to replace Michael Gaertig. Depth for Utica will most likely play in the ECHL...

Oh I know. Honestly I know nothing about him. Seems pretty small also.

Skip his tourney and reg seasons.  His numbers make him appear to be a big game goalie but man...those numbers...wow

I know people are giving him flack for his poor stats, but if you look into how BAD the team was, you'd understand.

2017-2018 ECHL 72 25 - 42 - 5 196 295 55 7 Did not make playoffs

25 wins, 42 losses.

GF 196

GA 295

The team went from a final 8 finisher to a bottom dweller.

What else do we see here?

  6.png ECHL
1. Branden Komm   1 2.04 .929 |
2. C.J. Motte   28 3.45 .910 |
3. Ivan Kulbakov   22 3.63 .902 |
4. Alex Sakellaropoulos   1 3.96 .875 |
5. Eric Hartzell   16 4.56 .874 |
6. Jake Paterson   4 5.31 .854 |
7. Matthew O'Connor   6 5.12 .853 |
8. Teddy Florence   0 - - |
9. Kent Nusbaum   0 - - |
10. Jake Reed   0 - - |

Based on the goalie stats, it's clear that the entire team got slammed with goals.

Context is everything.

Yes but those terrible numbers are in the ECHL, not even the AHL.

I made a post about how bad the team was. I'm not saying this guy is going to be the next Dominik Hasek, but I will say that he was probably on a team that no one would've succeeded on.

Many goalie prospects (including very good ones) often struggle in their first "pro" year (whether it be AHL or NHL).  I wouldn't read too much into that (I know jack about the player myself so obviously I have no opinion on him).

Yeah clearly if it was numbers alone that mattered we would've had two brothers in the system again

21-year-old goalie, formerly a “C” rated draft prospect, team MVP season in the USHL, decent enough rookie pro year split between the ECHL and AHL, and our new goalie coach Ian Clark apparently likes him.

Good signing.

It’s about as minor a signing as they get, but at least we’re adding a player to the organization with some upside and who’s young enough that he might yet develop into something more.

At the very least, he should be a competent ECHL goalie and decent system depth for Utica.
