250Integra
https://www.tsn.ca/oilers-sign-bouchard-to-entry-level-contract-1.1141395 The Edmonton Oilers have signed their 2018 first-round draft pick Evan Bouchard to a three-year entry-level contract worth $2.775 million with a $925,000 AAV. The 18-year-old played three seasons for the OHL's London Knights, tallying 148 points in 178 games. Bouchard also played in 28 playoff games during his span with the Knights, recording 14 points. Bouchard, 6’2, was a finalist for the Max Kaminsky Trophy as OHL Defenceman of the Year and the Red Tilson Trophy as Most Valuable Player. Last season, the Oakville, ON native dominated on both sides of the ice with 25 goals and 87 points in 67 games to lead all Knights players in scoring last season. GB5
Silly guy, he should have held out and went back nto the draft in two years.
D-Money
No surprise - Bouchard was always touted as the 2nd most NHL-ready D-man in the draft. Had the draft gone like it was projected to, and Hughes off the board, I would have been perfectly happy with Bouchard. But as it is, I'm 100% confident we got the guy with the highest upside. No sense rushing things with Hughes although it may be good to have in signed and playing in Utica but either way, college, or AHL or the less likely NHL, Hughes is going to be a beauty. I think he is getting a lot of pressure to spend one more year a school so he can play with his brother (and show him the ropes outside of the rink...Jack apparently owns the rink part) and, to be honest, Vancouver's spot in their rebuild is such that they don't need him this year anyway and no question he will develop in NCAA, WJC etc. It sure didn't hurt Boeser spending that extra year in NCAA.
