Benning has been consistent in trying to make deals for top end talent going way back to Subban. All of those would require serious assets going back. This has even been reported by many sources to be the major source of friction between him and Linden who preached more development and patience. The idea that it is ludicrous or even unlikely that Benning has made offers on any reportedly available player is silly. To be honest, until Ho-Sang gets his act together (or at least shifts it to something that helps a team better), I'm sure there has been offers, but I can't imagine NYI getting a good offer for him. Look at how far he dropped in the draft. That's a lot of teams passing on him then and there. Even if he became like a Marchand and started mouthing opponents off, that's still better than what he's provided so far, and that's saying something.
