CDCFL Trade Bait (Week of January 21)

  1. Martin Jones (MTL) - Likely going to be one of the biggest storylines to follow over the next couple weeks. Will Montreal re-sign the pending UFA, or trade him for a massive return.

  2. Sergei Bobrovsky (CHI) - Will both Bobrovsky and Jones get dealt this season? Who gets dealt first? Who gets more in a trade? Two pending UFAs who could set the tone for the rest of the trade deadline activity.

  3. Matt Duchene (MTL) - Like Jones, could easily make sense for Montreal to re-sign Duchene, however will a team put together an enticing enough package to make them think otherwise?

  4. Wayne Simmonds (CGY) - Calgary has looked at moving Simmonds in the past, and as a pending UFA, his value may not be much higher than when he is moved to a contender IRL.

  5. Tuukka Rask (PHI) - 179 Pool Points on the year, had a scary looking injury this past weekend but should be the key starter on a very good team in the playoffs. The best goalie available that has term on his current contract.

  6. William Karlsson (VGK) - First line center on a surging Vegas team in real life, does he fit in with CDCFL Vegas' future plans, or will they look to move him again this deadline.

  7. Kris Letang (ANA) - One of the top producing defencemen this season, signed for 4 more years at a reasonable cap hit. The Penguins can never be counted out and Letang is a big reason why.

  8. Oliver Ekman-Larsson (OTT) - As of press release, still no sign of a OEL extension in Ottawa. If this drags on much longer, would Ottawa be willing to trade him instead of losing him for nothing?

  9. Timo Meier (NJD) - If rumours of NJ willing to move Meier are true, there should be many teams lining up to acquire the young top 6 forward.

  10. Patrick Marleau (PHI) - An impending UFA who will likely have to have salary retained to make a deal work, would be a great rental add to any playoff team.

  11. Jordan Eberle (DET) - Been a tough season in Mo-Town thus far; With incoming cap problems, do they look to move out Eberle in order to save some future cap?

  12. Zdeno Chara (MTL) - Another pending UFA in Montreal, almost positive Big Z will be traded as Montreal looks to gain any future assets they can.

  13. Robin Lehner (STL) - A somewhat surprising season thus far, will likely command less trade value than the other goalies due to pedigree and team in real life, but a solid and interesting option for teams looking to shore up their goaltending to go after.

  14. Ryan Callahan (FLA) - If Florida falls out of the playoff hunt even more, look for Callahan to be moved to a contender for a future asset. Pending UFA on a top team.

  15. Mikko Koivu (STL) - Another vet on a potential playoff team in real life, will likely be a last minute trade candidate where teams resort to last options possible.

Until next week,

I wonder what nationality that asset would have to be

Would require an ultimate package. Have stated before and will state again that this is a guy I want to build my team around

We have a trade to announce...

To CAR - Lars Eller

To SJS - Conor Sheary

@Master Mind

Thanks to @Jaku for quick negotiations.

Trading Sheary was as emotional as one can get in fantasy hockey. Three players I’ve been especially proud of in my UFA signings before making it in the NHL are Artemi Panarin, Derek Ryan, and Conor Sheary. Saying goodbye to Conor isn’t easy, but it’s needed in order to compete in the first round this year, and Eller will help with that.
