If you follow "the book": Any set back (symptom) equals a return to stage one; which is why he was close a few times but then went dark again for a week(s) at a time.

The specialist in Detroit definitely knows more than I do, but I doubt he's had any symptoms since the "dizziness while skating" a couple weeks ago.

Crosby has a concussion that held him out for almost a year, then came back to dominate the league as one of the best players ever.

Sven will be OK once he's OK.

Sid is also in the boat as Sven

fans, media etc are questioning if he should still play. Sid has been reported that he still struggles with the side effects and contemplated retirement from his struggles.

Sid is one hit away to the head to being done in the NHL

I think it's wishful thinking he will play again or at the level he was. Dorsett was a testament of that he pushed himself to get back to be the player he knew he could be and his body just noped outta there.

I would be more happier if he says his good byes and live a life without further effecting it with life time struggles with brain damage

Demko was held out 2 months with a concussion on a nothing shot - he admitted that it wasn't his 1st.  It also wasn't the 1st for Roussel.  Eaves missed over a year with a concussion and then became a 30 goal scorer - it's other injuries that are holding him out now.  Oshie is on his 5th reported concussion and the list goes on.   They need to be wise about it and let their brain heal before returning and by all reports it sounds that Baer is.

Seeing my uncle suffer after his playing days I just can't see the worth more then ever now with how much they make compared to 20 or 30 years ago to keep playing to risk a life time of misery.

There are way too many players with concussions and it's really concerning but I don't think they can walk away from the game that easily.  Too many players try to play through concussions - McAvoy being a recent example.

Baer seems well aware of the risks.  In that initial interview he says he's not going to come back before he is 100% healthy because get injured again and who knows if he can recover.  He went to see that concussion specialist to know how much more he can take.  He wouldn't be preparing for a return if the reports were negative.

Paterson also tweeted: he says 'you have to listen to your body, listen to your head. Listen to the experts. You get one brain, one head for the rest of your life. You better listen to the experts and fully heal'.

I guess he has taken over Tanev's role on the team..

I foresee this kind of thing happening for the entire season. I am gonna bet someone gets the chicken pox before the season is out and I can almost guarantee we will not see a FULL roster this year at all. Just a hunch.

Oh my.  First he needed back surgery, now he just had season ending knee surgery.  All in the same year.  This is not good for Juolevi.  He’s basically going to miss an entire year of development.  The Canucks curse for top end defencemen continues.  Let’s hope Quinn Hughes does not suffer the same fate.

Ah man - you can't help but feel sorry for the kid.  He's only 20 years old and he's already had 2 major injuries.  He was really starting to turn the corner with his play too.  Hopefully he has a full recovery, gets in his summer workouts / routines and he shows up in September and blows everyone away.   Finnish d-men seem to have bad luck with Vancouver, see Salo, Sami for more examples.

Also any update on Troy or Sven?  Any chance either one plays before the end of the year?

With all the danger signals being given out regarding concussions it may be better to take the money and run. For Sven that's around 10 mil, a tough retirement, Stecher will need the next contract before he could do anything like that besides it depends upon how many and the degree, Stecher only has 2 (?) recorded.

Here it goes again, Canucks medical staff say rehab, personal specialist says rebuild immediately, hopefully his injury was what has been keeping him from skating fast enough for the NHL, Selanne came back skating much faster after his surgery.
