Pros: AWESOME GRITTY WIN!

Cons: Markstrom letting in softies. Pettersson was VERY intimidated tonight like VERY. Ffs look at Stetcher you have Pettersson who seemed

a bit shell shocked all night long. Swedish players man they get dominated mentally when the physical play amps up. Stetcher is out there

getting flung around like a plastic bag in the wind and Pettersson takes a little heat and shuts r down for the night. Lolz

Watching from afar. This one comment has successfully elicited a myriad of responses despite how meritless it was. With tones of discrimination and a 'trying to be funny' simile, this single post has all the symptoms of a troll*. Nevertheless, it seemed (at least to me) to have had the effect of somewhat semi-souring the otherwise fruitful discussion and really felt like a projection of insecurity by Shirotashi.

*Trolling – (verb), as it relates to internet, is the deliberate act, (by a Troll (Shirotashi) – noun or adjective), of making random unsolicited and/or controversial comments on various internet forums with the intent to provoke an emotional knee-jerk
reaction from unsuspecting readers to engage in a fight or argument.

On a unrelated note, looking forward to the game on Saturday - whatever the outcome is :)

it's situational.

CDC is experiencing a change of tone, but....

I recommend reading virtually any trade thread over the past few years.....or most GDTs.....or any thread that focused on whether the 'rething' started early enough, was a 'real' rething, or was tank enough.....or any thread that addressed the job Benning was doing.

Of course the responses are not monolithic like HF - which seems to be a circle-jerk of mopers, whiners and canucksmarmy types - but there was no shortage of 'HFing' around here as well.

HFing lol

"We're finding ways to score goals and get a little production from everywhere tonight. Real good effort from our group. Not really excited to give up 5 but man, that was an exciting game." - Green

Yep this team is going to be bringing back those longtime fans who support them through thick n thin :P but that being said I love how our true fans stickup for our players and not allow the bashing that used to go on.

Yes.  That LE we saw tonight (and recently) is the LE that GMJB intended to sign.

Great defensive forward - but also a guy with a great nose for goals in the paint - tip ins, rebounds - he feeds in those hard areas on the doorstep.

9 pts thus far is not bad, particularly when you combine it with good defensive play.

I'll certainly take it over Lucic's anemic 4 pts (and -6).

Or Backes' 0 pts in 9 games.

LE is actually also leading Okposo, who has 8 pts (and is -8)

Of LE's UFA class (the guys with comparable contracts in term and cap) - arguably the only guy performing as well as him is Andrew Ladd with 6 pts in 11 games...

If he keeps this up he will certainly distance himself from the 'worst contract in the NHL' talk.

Glad for Eriksson as he has really been snake bitten this season and in general during his time here. Defensively he was always sound though.

Must admit I didn't see it coming...

If he finds his scoring knack on a regular basis, we could be in the money. But that is still a big If...

But really good comparisons and they do put Eriksson contract into perspective...

It's completely amazing with the rash of injuries this team still manages to stay at the top of their division, near the top in goals for and near the top of the conference.

This is the difference from previous years... depth and youth.

Unreal and fantastic to witness... long may it continue.

I'm so pumped for the Nucks but Frak, I only caught the last 7 Minutes.

It's crazy how both Montreal and Vancouver are proving me and the specialists wrong. In Vancouver's case, goaltending and sheer heart and determination is making the difference.

Buffalo will be tough. They've got some great young talent. Not sure about their goaltending though. Perhaps this game will be a preview of an iminent  cup final. I really don't want to see another Boston SCF match-up until Marchand is no longer in the picture.

I wouldn't mind a rematch against Bruins... I think we would be better equipped to play their brand of hockey... only negative for me would be, it wouldn't that fat, sweaty, embellishment complaining pig on their bench this time around...

Damn I would like to see him cook, that steaming pile of dogs poo... Him and rat boy are the only two players I really really hated then....

And to the guy slamming our Swedish son.

Just because he didn't slap you silly all night with filthy goals, doesn't mean he didn't contribute.  I am SO angry right now that some are so blind that they'd actually rip on this kid already.  Don't even.  Puck possession matters.  Having guys "watch" him allows others to do stuff.  It's kind of complex, maybe don't bother.

Deb, I love your passion but you should know better than to get that upset by what one person said on this board.

This was a wild one, still not as wild a game as the Avs game the other night, that was a wild ride back and forth with last minute heroics, had it all.

It is fair to be a little critical of a team that coughed up five goals, there should be some room for that here.

It is also fair to say EP didn't have his best night.  Considering just how good his best nights could be it should be considered a compliment when he creates several scoring opportunities, makes a bunch of good defensive plays and a few people still feel a little disappointed.

However, to come in and be over the top negative after a great win against one of our most hated teams though should also be expecting a lot of clap back.

Just amazing, lacking 2/4 centres, top D man, Brock and more to put up eight is just amazing.  Bo has been ridiculous.  Throughout his career whenever he has been challenged he has improved and stepped up to the situation.

I don't know where this Canucks team will be at the end of the year but I do know it is going to be a wild ride getting there.

Yes, the ears and facial resemblance are eerily similar. Like that the rat looks like it choked itself to death. A metaphor or something to describe the bruins play this game. Lol.

After watching preseason I was wondering what place we would land in the draft lottery. After watching this team play since the regular season started up to now, I'm seriously just wondering wtf. Enjoying every minute of every game so far. I have stopped analyzing every shift and am completely enjoying being entirely baffled about how we have gotten to this point and stopped worrying about if this is sustainable. So many things going right for this group right now. Awesomeness

Always good to beat the Bruins...  ::D

Biggest surprise for me was just how bad a game Pettersson had...  He gave away the puck multiple times, gambled badly on guessing Bruins moves, and generally didn't show a lot...  I guess he really is human... not from Planet X.  ;)  He did have the one assist, but overall a game to learn lessons from... and I'm betting he will learn.

Another great game from Bo... he really set the tone for this one... got the team going.

Excellent game from Eriksson... he is turning out to be a pleasant surprise this season even though he goal total isn't huge, the assists are there.  I guess we should have expected it... he has been an up and down player production wise his whole career and he is due for a good season.  If he can chip in 15 goals that will go a long way towards making this team competitive.

Great game from Granlund... he played great in the PK role and chipped in two assists.  He really in my opinion, has been a real positive this season, playing quietly but efficiently and getting the job done game in and game out.

Good game from Virtanen... had a number of big hits and obviously the goal.  And Archie definitely was throwing his weight around and sniffing around the net.  You could see the Bruins keeping away from him and trying to avoid provoking him... till the last hit and then I guess Krug felt he had to respond... which was a mistake on his part as he got thrashed.

The young guys on Defense contributed in the way they should be... as John and John said... 'Just get the puck past the first guy and on net and give yourself a chance to score... the puck will go in enough times to reward you."  Hutton is building confidence every game.

Stecher had a great game even though he didn't get any points, several times he was the crucial starter of a goal scoring play by keeping the puck in the zone.  And you have to salute him for being willing to drop the gloves with a much bigger opponent... he showed his heart.

And Markstrom, although he let in quite a few... did have his strongest effort in the third period when it really counted... that save on Marchand was a career highlight reel keeper.   ;)

Too bad the Refs got stingy at the end and deprived Tyler Motte of his goal... the puck was clearly in... the goaltenders legs were behind the goal line when the whistle blew so the puck had to be in.

Overall another terrific team building exercise... this is the kind of game which bonds all the young guys and makes them willing to sacrifice for each other.

Bruins did a great job of neutralising him on the PP with Chara standing to the left of the goalie to box out Bo down low and at the same time, using his long reach to keep Pettersson from getting in too close for a shot. Chara with his big body basically blocked out left part of the net, including high glove, where EP likes to shoot at.

In fact, their strategy was to clog up the left side on PP and crowd EP to the boards. They could do this as they knew there was nothing (no Boeser) on the right side. It kind of worked I guess except that it almost looked like they didn't prepare for anything else except EP and hence, 8 goals from the rest of the team :)
