Tanev really needs to shoot that puck if he has it on the point.

Too many times are players passing it up instead of shooting it.

Edler to Pettersson to Edler to Pettersson. SMH.

Have you seen tanev shoot?!  Right.

Vancouver couldn't convert to save their lives, no doubt. The penalties called on Vancouver were weak as hell, and not giving that turd Pateryn a 5 minute major for the boarding is obscene.

I agree , and if the refs are trying to keep the calls even between the teams a 5 minute major should offset that 2 man advantage.

bingo...wasn't good defensively as a player...showing the trend continues into his defensive coaching decisions.

Only so much can be laid at the feet of the defensemen (outside of Del Zotto). They are running plays configured by Baumgartner and clearly Nolan doesn't design plays that work to his players strengths at all. I can't see how Green keeps this guy around, and is okay with it.

The head coach is ultimately responsible don’t kid yourself

you don’t think the coach is going to walk over to Baumer and tell him to sit him late?

Because Green has his own worries such as getting an anemic offensive line to go get a goal.

Ultimately, its Baumgartner's job as the assistant coach - who is in charge of the defense to deploy and make decisions.  Green can't be worried running over to take over what a competent assistant coach should be able to do.

Instead of keeping the calls even, how about they actually penalize the players actually breaking a rule.

He better be because the head coach is always fired first

Nolan got promoted with Green because he is close friends with Green.

in all aspects of the game they are playing "not to lose", rather than to win..... tentative/slow/ way too "methodical" in their process...

but they do the little things correct....

That about that

it was a Willie flashback

Canucks is bad, but fans shouldn't disappointed if you realize that with those AHLers you will never win a cup, we need draft, more draft

the new Canucks Leivo played a good game tonight, which is obviously a update from Leipsic

He has played 41 games for the Leafs, most of them with very limited minutes and has 9 goals.
He sits in the press box for 14 games straight while Nylander has 9 goals in 54 games of power play time and a regular #1 line shift.
Marner has 9 goals in the same 54 games with a regular shift.
Neither have ever been in the press box despite a complete disinterest in defense.
If Leivo played a regular shift he would probably score 20+ goals in a season.--I hope...
but he needs to improve his skating, like Bo hired a speed skating coach for example

If I didn’t read this in Tommy Wiseau’s voice it would have given me a headache...

Starting to lose faith in Green

MDZ takes a penalty that causes 2 goals and Green puts him out with 1:45 left and he proceeds to let the Wild kill the clock with his inept play.

Way to reward him Green

too bad you hold Goldy to an entirely diffent standard

Was pointed out in the intermission that the reason Greener's hard on Goldy is because the team actually sees a future for him.  MDZ has a future selling insurance.

Goldy's historically responded well after a benching so this could be worth it if he comes back motivated.

I honestly believe that when Pettersson received the returned pass from Edler, he was like "WTF? Just shoot it!"
