I think we win this one - they won't stumble their way through another game - but they really do need to play a full 60 minutes.

Wonder who starts the year in the press box?

Go Canucks Go

EP40 or Horvat will be on the scoresheet  for the 1st Canuck goal in 2019. And yes Go Canucks Go!

Feel sorry  for Guy Boucher.  Looks like he took a serious skate cut on one side of his face.

Then he coaches his arse off trying to keep the Sens respectable while the owner keeps shedding all of the team’s best players.

It doesn’t seem likely to end well in Ottawa for the poor guy.

The Sens will try to clog things up, but I think the Canucks will be up to the task and win 5-2.

He hasn't ever told how he got it, however, I know what it is.  It is a puncture/fall/rip type scar.  Something punctured his cheeck at the bottom of the V while he was falling, and then the skin stretched/tore/ripped into the triangle up as he fell down.  This explains the shape, and the very poor "fit" of the sutured sides of the V.   Looks kind of badass imo.

As of today, Colorado is sitting 15th in the league and has the top seed in the 2019 entry lottery.

Ottawa is in serious trouble.  I can see Stone and Duchene bailing this off season (I would too).

If Stone bails from the Sens, I actually hope Benning makes a play for him in free agency.

Generally I’m against shelling out major bucks for top free agents at this early stage in the rebuild, but Stone is one of the few players that I’d make an exception for. His combination of consistent first line level offence, ridiculously positive impacts on differentials, elite two-way play, size, character, and leadership would make him an amazing addition to our group.

And he’s still young enough (26) to remain at or near peak performance through what I expect will be this team’s future competitive window.

Stone is a legitimate first line winger, while also being one of the elite two-way players in the league right now (actually, a recent article in The Athletic makes a good case for Stone being the best two-way player in the league).

Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, and Stone would be an amazing core group of forwards and would basically would lock down 2/3 of a contender-level top-6.

Fwiw Friedman sees Vegas as the top contender if he goes to UFA.  AGM Kelly McCrimmon was coach, GM, owner of his junior team the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Mark Stone is now eligible for an extension - says he expects contract negotiations to start in the next couple of weeks and wants to stay in Ottowa.
