Liberals perform the "reach"

Conservatives perform the " reach around "

Either way Canadian voters are pretty much going to lose out.  Plug your nose and vote.

I tend to vote for less worse of the two ... so yes i voted JT.

Im curious what would JT have to do to lose your vote ?  Most Liberal supporters who've ive spoken with dont really care what he does, they just want to vote Liberal .

When your alternatives are a party full of climate change deniers and pro-birthers and a party that has never governed federally, you can understand why there are people who will vote liberal.  Thing is, there are CON till they die and Dippers for ever voters as well.

I'm usually open to voting for NDP but really disliked my local candidate, and I'm fundamentally opposed to social conservatism.  That left me with Libs or Greens as viable options.  I'm not a huge fan of JT, but the country is definitely a better place to live than it was under his predecessor.  He's done a pretty decent job at handling the virus and minimizing impact, but the real test is with the ****hole to the south of us trying to pressure him to open the border.  Keep the border closed and keep my vote.

Can't vote social conservative....  ever....

I then want to vote for other party that will do the least damage to the economy.

Thus i voted JT.....

As a conservative I believe until the conservatives strive away from social conservatism and create a platform with an emphasis on fiscal conservatism they're gonna have a hard time winning.

If the conservative party today were more Libertarian conservatives they'd probably win or have a lot better chance at winning IMO. I consider myself one of those but we seem to be mainly represented by social conservatives in politics here. It is quite frustrating as a right winger since people who are like me are stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to voting.

There is a part of me that thinks that if Scheer won.. he would be succumbing to the pressure form the south to open borders with the USA for the benefit of the "economy". Of course we will never know, but I just did not trust him to stand up to that ningkumpoop to the south.

You've got to be kidding suggesting a tactic of the American far right here.

Suggesting the PM is a pedophile based off of a minor college affiliation is not only laughable it's highly ignorant and speaks volumes about you.

I could suggest that leadership hopeful Jewish is against the LGBT community and wants to see them annihilated based in her comments.

MacKay hating westerners based in his

O'Toole hating and desiring the eradication of anyone on the left based on his.

Only using your metric here.  Do you really think your argument or statement is credible or mature enough to warrant further debate?

If there was a story there it would everywhere. Trudeau got taken through the ringer with the SNC Lavalin thing because there was an actual story to report.

No where did I suggest JT was a pedophile. My comment about his college roommate and JT's subsequent promotion of this person for election was a comment on his judgement of people. This fellow was nominated by the LPC and withdrew after charges of involvement in a pedophile ring in Vancouver. I did not make this up. Brand me as far right if it gives you comfort. I believe this thread had been discussing the expanding WE scandal and consequently Trudeau's values and judgement of the people he has carrying out policy.

What, J.T. didn't read the t-shirt the guy wore that said "I'm a pedophile"?   Shame, Shame, Shame.

Hopefully they switch to being more fiscally conservative once the Silent Generation passes.

Don't see you stuck between anything. The Cons are arguably less fiscally conservative than the liberals (ignoring covid) with a side of proven to fail 'trickle down' economics (aka socialism for corporations at the expense of social programs for people) all while having backwards, archaic social and environmental policies.

Large swaths of that platform is very little help to the vast majority of Canadians. Yet a great many still vote conservative out of loyalty, ideology, ignorance and just plain inbred hatred for 'liberals'.

What conservatives need is an actual party and platform to vote for. Socially moderate/progressive, an actual environmental plan and fiscally conservative.

That starts at the grass roots IMO.

Yet Conservatives won't get the party you talk about because they keep voting Conservative.  If many Conservative voters simply voted elsewhere in protest,  then they could get the party to change.   It will take a long time to see change if Conservative incumbents who support climate change  denial, social conservative policy, and trickle down economics get support simply because they are Conservative.

You made the insinuation fairly loudly and clearly.

Get all that crap out of the CPC platform and they actually become an option for myself and others who are absolutely disgusted by their barbaric social views.

Starting to look like a MacKay vs True Dough showdown and I don't think MacKay has what it takes.  he already sold the Conservative brand down the river once showing he did not want the leadership role or could not handle it.  This gave rise to the social conservative movement in Canada via power to the reformers.

It's not looking good

I'm gonna love the hear Cons try and explain why they elected "Search and rescue" MacKay leader of their party while complaining about JT's abuses of power.  I wonder if MacKay would have been guilty of ethics violations that Cons love to trot out when discussing JT.  Me thinks he would.

There's an epic photo of him sitting in a mocked up F-35 that he can stand by.  As long as you don't ask him about the two separate books on it.  He can also have veterans stand up for him, as long as you don't ask him about scaled back money and VA office closures under his watch.

It's literally the turd vs the d-bag
