Toyotasfan
I’m sure MDZ can be a perfect pressbox spare defeceman for a playoff contender on his expiring contract. Frees up a spot for Hughes to play later on in the season. Only thing is MDZ needs to play once in awhile to “showcase” his play for scouts. Babcock had the team playing responsibly. Reilly was stinking it up in his own zone like he always does. Even Babcock can't get Reilly to play defense at an NHL quality. But sitting in the press box showcases what his role would be on another team. They're going to want to know he won't spill ketchup all over the lap of one of the guys whose good enough to play if someone gets hurt.

I'm a Canucks fan, but also a hockey fan, and in that game, the Canucks were clearly the inferior team from a defensive standpoint in any metric. Just like Karlsson who plays with Dillon.

We lack depth, especially on D, and it showed.

They'd be better off icing five defensemen than letting that useless piece of garbage on the ice. He's not even good enough for the AHL.

Somehow Yannick Weber has the lowest on ice goals against of any Predator defenseman. 1.1 goals against per 60 (in 37 games, not a cup of coffee) is pretty low for an a guy hurting his team because he's not even an AHL quality defenseman. Last year a team low 1.4 goals against per 60, over 47 games - better than all other Predators Going to go out on a limb and conclude this: you wear crap goggles where Weber is concerned and didn't give him a fair look when he was here. He was actually pretty good his first two years here, and became a CDC whipping boy the third. Surprise - virtually anyone that touches the bottom pairing in Vancouver becomes an inevitable whipping boy. Correction - virtually anyone that touches the blueline here has their rounds as a whipping boy in this fantasy fan base. In any event, the Predators are one of the last teams anyone ought to be looking at and wondering if they're capable of scouting defensemen. And Weber's outcomes, as well as the fact he competes himself into that lineup, flatly contradict your impressions - which like your rants against Morgan Reilly, are hard to take seriously. Random forum poster who probably has not played a game of hockey in his life vs reality. gosh what a difficult decision to make! you know Nashvilles known as a dmen powerhouse and they have had quite a number of prospects trying to make the team over the last few years and Yannick Weber has still managed to make the team. 86Viking
trade him for another dead weight contract that is hopefully an expiring one. MDZ has no real value, here is hoping playoff teams get numerous injuries to their D core then maybe MDZ can get us a pick back. Still on board saying he should play over Pouliot though

Still on board saying he should play over Pouliot though Playoff teams (foolishly) trade for guys like MDZ every TDL. We will get a third or fourth form him, and will laugh with hysteria at the stupidity of the other GM (Chiarelli)

Hard to trade a guy that you isolate in the press box. To favour a player who plays a softer game and makes as many or more mistakes than what MDZ would make. Play the pending UFA asset to try and garner some interest from teams imo
