That doesn't count. NJD wasn't a hockey team back then.

It was a cult.

Did some searching....  it was a modern day record at the time ;)

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Martin Brodeur was waiting for shots that never came. Now he's waiting for New Jersey's next playoff opponent.

The Devils held Toronto to an NHL modern record-low six shots Monday night and eliminated the Maple Leafs from the Stanley Cup playoffs with a 3-0 victory.

New Jersey, which won the best-of-seven second-round series, 4-2, advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since winning the Cup in 1995.

Was just the 2nd round though and not the ECF that I thought.  I was stuck at a bus station in Nanimo and saw the entire game at the bar...

If Berglund's struggles stem from mental health, he probably shouldn't have to walk away from his contract.....

What is the NHL's policy - not the lip service - but the action - when it's players suffer from mental illness?

no different then having a chronic career ending injury

the contract does not get voided or canceled for that

but is paid out till concluded

insurance might cover part of it
